show off the size of your desk

Sleeper PC 2016

I want to see how big or how small y'all's desk is. Also if you recently bought the desk, how much did it cost ya. My desk was a freebie from craigslist and its a monster measuring in at 59" x 30" (or 150cm x 76cm for you metric fans), 6 spacious drawers and so damn heavy (guessing at least 150 LB or 68 KG) that you need 2 really strong guys and a dolly to move it. Send pics of your desks, measurements, and if you recently got it, price paid.

Cable management is horrible, however I am waiting to get all of the equipment I want and get the position right before I finalize the whole thing.  Can't even count the times I have completely redone this.  Currently I am waiting on putting the Acer on a monitor arm then move the power amp under the desk. 8ish foot desk though. #36nowifegfkidsalimonychildsupportand15yrsintoacareer

Hard to really get the whole thing in the picture given the size of the office and the bookcases to my back left, but there is another drawer unit on the far right side as well.

Got the desk several years ago from an ex, and while it's good, I always wanted more desk space; really fond of U-shaped desks, but with the layout of the office and size, I opted for extending it with an Ikea table-top and Ikea dresser to supplement the storage I needed for extra PC parts, cables, extra keyboards/keycaps, etc...

I also didn't put the backer on the dresser, so I have my cable for my headset running in behind it as well and use the top drawer for storing it which keeps the desk clean. This also allows me to run other things through the back if I need to.

I placed two desks next to each other.  I forget the dimensions and I won't be able to take measurements until I'm on break from college.  I also have a different mouse pad now.  But yeah, this desk serves me fine and it fits my triple monitor setup.

Currently focusing on my video game collection.

It doesn't matter what you play games on, just play good games you enjoy.

I have a Jarvis 60" x 30" adjustable sit-stand desk.  The tall position is great because you can just walk up to the desk and use the computer.  It's also healthier than sitting all day.

Because of the movement up and down and the exposed back, cable management is a problem.  The company's solution is to place a surge protector in a rail mounted to the underside of the desk, but that's not practical for me because I have an 8-outlet Isobar Ultra and a 5-port gigabit switch--all of which is too large to fit in the rails and too cumbersome to mount by itself.  Instead, they're stuffed into the white box on the floor.

The answer is not big enough. I've been stock with some medical bills for a while now but I want to get something slightly bigger since you can't see it but there's a laptop I stand vertically behind the monitors (that's the work laptop) so I'd like to at least fit it somewhere in the desk. That is, somewhere I don't need the space for myself

desk_1017.jpg

Also yes this isn't a desk but a re-purposed small dining table, really not the most comfortable thing for someone my size as my knees are most of the time bumping against the central wood beam.

I'm also noticing like half of us are using 10-keyless keyboards. Quite nice to see this form factor is getting more popular so I hope it gets better support in the future because I have run into noticeable problems with apps assuming you have the numeric keyboard.

I like the keypad, but I'm on the fence of maybe looking for a 10 keyless with MX Browns or Blues.

Darn, and here I thought I had to down size to a small desk for a bit.

Still, sucks I don't have enough room for all three of my desks and all four of my monitors I have (all four where not for gaming back then).

Here a pic of when I had room.  (Back when I did 24/7 folding on a 7970, was the room space heater :P )

Here a pic of my current.  I had to do a major clean since my Dad stacked papers all over the desk while I was deployed for four months (at least this time he did not stack them on my computer intake).

id say about "just enough" is acurate

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Ha! But please note that the printer is just a normal-sized Brother laser MFC on top of a similarly-colored file cabinet.  It's not a giant office document center with paper trays.
