SAMSUNG RIPPING OFF CANADIAN CONSUMERS

This is more of an opinion piece than news but no one is bringing this to the "mainstream" eye and I thought this may be a good forum to do so.

 

As a previous Note 7 owner I was happy to see that Samsung was offering US customers deep discounts when purchasing a new Note 8, $425 deep! WOW! But what about the 38 000 Canadian's that owed Note 7. Since day 1 (August 23rd) Samsung said that there would be an incentive program in Canada "shortly". It has now been 1 month of patiently waiting for the incentive program, the pre-order bonuses have come and gone. US customers could bundle the "bonuses" but not us Canadians. Speaking of pre-order bonuses US bonuses are a 256gb SD card and a wireless charger or a 360 camera, what does Canada get? Samsung: "um... ya we don't care about Canadians lets only give them a 128gb card and a wireless charger, forget about the camera".

If you want American corporation benifits, move to America!!! Otherwise be happy that Samsung Gave Canadians anything, because the truth of the matter is most countries got nothing for their explosive phones.

Canada is a smaller (and more captive) market, so the consequences of pissing us a little more is considerably less significant.

Its a smaller market in Canada. California has 3 million more residents than Canada. No offense, but they don't have to do much to get people to buy in the U.S. The benefits are a way to say thanks for all of the business.

Isn't that what I just said?! Just like any other tech company, they all have a headquarters in America, hence the reason why American customers always benifit from the better deals. If every tech company had a headquarters in every country, every country would benifit from the same deals as americans do, but that's not how the world works.

I'd rather Samsung not get into augmented reality. For the sake of walking down the street and needing to pay a pop-up for the next block. Time Square has nothing on Samsung.

So if it fits your agenda it stays?! Nice censorship there buddy! I understand it's part of the rules not to bring politics into stuff on the forums, but when fact is fact, its just fact and nothing more. We dont want a censored internet,  but lets have a censored fourm right? Makes alot of sense don't it? Facts are just facts, can't make it fit your agenda...tuff it's life!

It's a good idea to keep the politics out of the forum otherwise everyone starts to derail the true purpose of the thread and this forum becomes little more than a flame war.

So... What of the Canadian headquarters they have in Mississauga?   They have a LOT of head quarters in a lot of countries.  You seem to be declaring it 'An American Company' because it has an HQ in America despite it having one in Canada as well.

Which I agree with as seen in this tread, never thought one sentence would have so much control over the topic at hand, but censoring is just wrong, we don't want it, we complain about the internet being censored, so where are the pic forks here?! That in itself is just wrong.

Look, being realistic, any time there are any two different opinions ever, half of this forum becomes a flame war.

 

And the second I post in any thread ever, it starts to derail, whether I'm 10,000% on topic or not.

This thread..OP had a legitimate concern of Canadians getting a bum deal vs their American counterparts and then someone derails with ramblings about how a KOREAN company should have American corp benefits something something and then the pointless bickering.

No, if it fits the forum rules it stays, and the forum rules say no politics.  I would assume as a chat mod yourself that you'd understand how this works, since I assume you're doing some censoring yourself over on twitch - it's kind of the literal definition of the job after all.  And just because one person says they're facts, doesn't make them suddenly not political.  If we listened to that, then we'd just be adapting to your agenda.
