I honestly never noticed the "reply to this topic" button.

I didn't for a while, but I use it all the time now.

No idea what this "nav bar" is.  Seriously? That's the nav bar? I didn't even know you could unpin it, I had left it by default, which is "pinned".

Pressing the "Reply to This Topic" is the equivalent of saying "I don't want to read anything so bring me to the bottom of the page immediately and let me post something completely irrelevant", never used it, ever.

The problem with the "reply to this topic" button is that if the post is more than a few lines long I will have probably scrolled down to read it before I decide to reply, at which point either the input box is just closer to my cursor (there are no replies) or I want to see other people's comments before writing something myself. If it was on the nav bar maybe it would be more useful.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

I agree, but unfortunately that doesn't fit within the scope of what I can do for this update, and the devs have consistently shown that they really don't care about this issue.

That isn't really a solution though.

For the pin, the nav bar is being redesigned anyway, so I'm trying to establish whether a pin icon needs to be worked into the design, or whether it should just always be pinned.

For the reply button, IMO it encourages people to reply to a topic without reading the posts, and it would fee up the vertical space that's dedicated to it, so I'm trying to decide whether it could be removed or not.

For themes, I'm mostly interested in how many people didn't know that they could change theme.

That isn't something that I can fix for this update, but I will pass it on to the devs to consider for a future update, though I'm not sure that they're even reading suggestions any more so don't hold your breath.

You should be able to change your response.

the real question is, what does pin navigation even do!?

a toggle button to disable notifications from a status update you replied to that is being hammered by replies would be a cool thing, Just saying' .

Or alternatively something like what happens when you get quoted by a ton of people in a topic, where all those notifications are merged into one instead of being separate.

Also it's annoying that you get two notifications when you get mentioned in a status update.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Do this:

Quote

And make sure you do it by hitting the quote button at the bottom left of my post, and not the one inside the editor!

Or this:

Side note it would make 100% more sense for the "theme" thing to just be a on/off switch on the nav bar. I literally would never have found this on my own.

The reason for that question is to find out how hard to discover the theme switcher is, to which it appears the answer is fairly. In the upcoming update, I'm hoping to improve that by moving it to the user dropdown menu.

BTW, is there any ways to add custom reactions to the stock one in Invision 4.2? I've used it on other forums, and it's not very detailed. Like, thanks, haha and angry.

I've maybe used the "reply to this topic" button twice in my time here

I think "pinned" is the default, and it makess sense, too. It allows you to interact with your notifications and messages, and i use it often just to return to the meinpage of the forum

Then again I blame my post on Off topic threads. Which let's be real if Off topic posts counted, everyone would have a far higher number.
