The Studio system makes rapid, affordable metal prototyping much more accessible than ever before, using a huge range of cheap, safe and easily handled materials and producing high-quality parts that can be tested properly. The entire integrated system and associated software retails for US$120,000, where an equivalent laser system will run you more than US$1 million – and that doesn't take into account the safety and materials handling overheads the laser systems require.

This would be great if it was like a store you go to that has a printing booth that's a cubic few meters in size, and you could pay a small amount to print whatever you need.

 

Especially for vehicle repairs. Imagine a store like that having the specs for all vehicles, and being to just select a fender or hood for a car from a list and print it off.

To clarify: it doesn't work on iOS10 with the default (safari) browser. I have no experience with alternate browsers or mobile OSs.

Neat, il just pull those HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS out of my pockets, yes? 

 

This isn't cheap but it's cheaper, will be nice when in a few years this could come as something you can buy without spending as much as your house cost. 

 

This reminds me of a YouTube video about common biker road trip problems where not selecting the right bike was seen as a common problem, yes let me just walk out into my big ass garage and look over my collection of $40,000 bikes that I definitely own to pick the right one!!! with this tech maybe I could just print one though... 

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

...So how is this better than cnc'd mills and lathes in combination? you can get those cheaper as in depending on what you want to do new price of 20k-400k. Rather crazy we need this to be 10x cheaper and as fast as cnc's (unless it does big parts but you need a blanking station for those usually is why)

You can design some pretty amazing stuff with 3D printing that frankly isn't possible with even a $2M Haas.
