Used laptop help. Asus Zephyrus VS MSI Modern?

Good day, I'm looking to buy a used laptop for light work (browsing the internet, light Photoshop and video editing 1080p)

I've found two great deals in my area (I live in Moldova) and I cannot decide which one is better.

1) Asus Zephyrus G14: ~$550

  • Ryzen 7 5800HS
  • 16Gb DDR4
  • Nvidia GTX 1650 4Gb
  • 14" FullHD IPS 144Hz

2) MSI Modern: ~$470

  • i5-10210U
  • 8.0GB DDR4
  • GeForce MX250
  • 14.0" IPS Full HD

They are both 14" laptops because I don't need a large screen since I'll be connecting it to an external monitor anyway.

I need to choose between a lower price and lower specs or a higher price but with better specs, but is the difference between the specs going to be noticeable?

Thanks a lot!

Well for starters, going from a mx250 to a gtx 1650 is a WILD improvement, then 16gb ram is practically necessary for photoshop. Then the Ryzen 7 5800HS is faster in general, from either a small improvement, to a ginormous game changing improvement (rare).

tldr for $80 more that is packing a LOT more beef.

Oh and plus 144hz is nice, assuming the other one is 60hz (bleh)

Although of course... you have to keep in mind battery life, it's very likely that the $470 laptop has multiple hours on the $550 one.

Probably some dude on the internet

G14

Its not even remotely close in the slightest what so ever.

The g14 wins in performance, battery life, build quality, cooling, display,...

It has 4 hours at most due to small battery + 10th gen intel. The g14 averages 5 quite easily.

But yeah the g14 is just so much better get that one.

Personally speaking I am not a fan of MSI Moderns lid design. Its one of those vices where lid lifts the chassis up. Plus MSI laptops are known for this rather cheap feeling plastics.

Didn't see that, just assumed lower wattage gpu=more battery life

I mean under load it would be.... at the cost of several multitudes of frames per second

Edit: nvm I finally decided to remember intel 10th-14th gen cpu's are big space heaters......in terms of power usage and heat....... so next part is what you should listen to
And if im just pulling this out of no where then uh...
Why would anyone consider the MSI???
