AMD announces their new Ryzen Pro series of Desktop CPUs

It's a shame people actually think Internet Security can be solved which is how these branded components get so popular. Hacking is a never ending cycle it will never be solved hacker's will always hack into corporate servers, AMD will push a new driver update saying we have solved the leak in our security, and sell even more of these processors and the hackers will just strike again it's sad really.

This isnt to solve hacking and they never said that.

How good security is based on how long the criminal is willing to spend on cracking it, every security can be broken. This is just another road block to make it harder, not to stop it altogether.

AMD's Ryzen's and Eypc 3D renders became a reality.

That EPYC heatspreader design is nothing like the real thing,

Ryzen Pro render I believe is more of an artistic take

The style of the font and PCB in the render is the exact same as the real thing. We have black pcb motherboards, when can't we have black pcb cpus.

wouldn't a color coating on a heatspreader interfere with cooling?

Motherboard heatsinks are color coated too I believe and they show no problems with cooling

Anodization

https://www.qats.com/cms/2010/11/09/how-heat-sink-anondization-improves-thermal-performance-part-1-of-2/

It makes negligible difference in conduction (heat transfer through solid mediums) from the heat spreader to the heatsink/waterblock, you have more losses in TIM than through anodization.

Read through the article, it can actually help improve heat transfer in heatsinks, since anodization slightly increases the surface area due to making aluminum slightly porous.

Yeah, but it's a render, so it may not be 100% color accurate ;)

yup, that's how you know it's the real deal

and I can't see a person who rendered the Ryzen Pro in the reflection, so it has to be fake

I really hope next year they crank the clocks up though, really where it's hurting them right now with a 4Ghz cap on 95%+ of their CPUs

Something I find interesting is that in the AMD to Intel chart where they show which processor is supposed to compete with which, they have the 1700 compete with the 7700, but leave the 1700X blank, even though the 7700K should presumably be in that position.
