Or they could just want it gone, and so didn't set a minimum bid. And you can get your money back with PayPal, right? If so, I'd go for it.

Bidding will nearly always result in massively higher than started price point, as tactic is to bid after everyone else as soon as possible so they cannot out bid you. Within many a few days such price will probably reach colossal prices after people have seen it and bidder :D

Awesome. Say the bids get up to $10 or so and it turns out to be a dud, at least you didn't waste much money.

The seller has a good rep and this is not the 'Buy Now' price, that's the opening bid.  That will NOT be a $2 motherboard because there WILL be a bidding war.

It's not that it's 'Too good to be true' it's that you don't seem to quite get how AUCTIONS work...

the last thing i got in one of those was my ASUS P5N-e SLI which is an LGA 775 board lol

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Hhmmm. And most of his positives seem to be from sellers saying he was a good buyer. There's only one review from a buyer that I saw on the first two pages. Fishy....

It could still be legit.  I don't sell much on eBay so most of my rep is from being a buyer.  There's really no 'red flags' and 'Let's throw this up on eBay and see what it goes for' is not an uncommon tactic.

Really, if it had a redonk Buy Now price of like $20 or something, that'd be a HUGE red flag.

hows this for an idea: he tosses it up for auction, and based on what gave him two negative feedbacks, if it doesnt reach the price he hoped for he just screws you over.

Sellers with reasonably valuable/good condition items typically set a minimum bid quite a bit higher than this though don't they?    I'm almost certain I've seen that happen before to protect the seller from a crazy low final bid if that might somehow happen.

No. Lots of times the minimum bid is low, sometimes only 99 cents for something expensive, like a Segway.

No. its perfectly normal. By the time it sells, it will sell for much more money, like the actual price.
