MSI GTX 970 for $140 USD?

I'm planning to meet a guy on craigslist with an MSI GTX 970 OC (the red one) for only $140 USD.

 

Is that a good price? I'm going to test it at my place to make sure it works.

well you can definatly try it, but be prepared to get bids closer to $120

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

ehh not really... a 3GB 1060 can be had at 170 USD new and that is as good or better in most cases.

That's pretty good, do be sure it gets an accurate score in benchmarks, no heat problems, and the fans work properly.

Sounds like a ok deal, however I would advice on waiting abit and getting a Rx 480 or a 3gb gtx 1060. These would preform better but if you need to have it now then go for it!

If the 970 is in good condition and you will overclock it then get it. After overclocking, it stays very close or even passes the 1060 3gb and rx 480, just behind the 1060 6gb

If you can talk him down to $120, I'd hit it. If he won't budge, nah.
