I'd like to also chime the saying:

"There's no such thing as a bad product, only a bad price"

Whether this statement holds true is up to you, but since I don't know the pricing of these cards I'd like to ask:

How much would you pay for this?

Synthetic benchmarks are meaningless. The two cards aren't even in the same state let alone in the same ballpark. Let's look at a whole slew of gaming benchmarks, and let's even compare it to a 1050Ti.

I bet those were run on Windows 10, thus impeding performance.

I get a solid 60 in the following, all on the highest settings possible:

NFS Carbon
NFS UG2
NFS UG
NWN2
TESV: Skyrim
TESV Skyrim: Special Edition
Fallout 4
Lost Planet 2

Lost Planet 3
Elder Scrolls Online
TESIV: Oblivion
Fallout 3
Fallout New Vegas
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition

Dark Souls 2

Dark Souls 3
Halo 2
Halo 3
Halo: Combat Evolved
Halo Online

Halo 4

Halo: Reach

Halo 5
Minecraft
PPSSPP: Playstation portable emulator
Dolphin emulator: Twilight Princess at 4K
PCSX2: Playstation 2 emulator
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

My card SLAYS the 970. The core itself is at 2.25 GHz, and the memory is at over 4 GHz.

My card is a 1050ti.

I think the MAX I'd pay for one of these is 60 dollars. If I had to choose one it would be the Gigabyte passive model .

EDIT: I change my mind actually, I think I would get the MSI passive card instead because although I still don't care for the heatsink design I like that it does away with the DVI.

Windows 10 doesn't impede performance that much (and both the 970 and 1050Ti were run on the same system). You're dreaming if you think a 1050Ti is anywhere near a 970. Pascal is just overclocked Maxwell for all intents and purposes, a 1050Ti performs very similarly to a 960. The fact that your card is clocked higher and has faster memory (which it doesn't) is meaningless. The 1050Ti and 970 both have the same memory (of 7gbps, not 4).

And bullshit you get 60fps ultra in witcher 3..

You think Windows 10 is good.

The regular 1050ti has a normal clock of about 1360Mhz, Mine's at 2.25. And sorry, 8GHz effective, not 4. You double it for some reason or other, right?

Do you want benchmarks? i can post benchmarks.

If you are overclocking your 1050ti for the test, then you should overclock the 970 as well. Also, you are completely wrong.

I hate windows in general, that's why I only use it when I'm gaming, but Windows 10 isn't the devil, and it's not going to trash the performance of a 1050Ti while letting every single other card run free.

And yes, lets compare an overclocked 1050Ti to a stock 970. Sounds fair.

You're right, shader clock is double the core clock. I was a bit confused.

The shader clock is the speed at which the shaders (and in the case of Nvidia, some other parts of the chip) run at. For Nvidia, this is always twice the speed of the core clock.

Let me rephrase, then, since you are all so triggered.

My overclocked GTX 1050ti is as good as a regular 970.

It trashes performance in general.

Windows 10 was made by Microsoft after Bill Gates retired. Therefore, it was made by the devil.

Bill Gates was still in active management when W7 was released. Just like when Jobs was still at apple, things were acceptable there. He's gone, and now everything is shit.

A) It doesn't.

B) Then it will trash the performance across all cards equally. It isn't going to pick out the one specific card.
