The Smartphone market has advanced so far that, alteast for me, the most important feature a phone has is software its update cycles which is a huge benefit for both apple and google since they make they software for their phones.

But maybe nextbit has some nice cloud software that razer wants to use in their next products though I really don't see how a blade or a stealth would benefit from deeply integrated cloud storage since they have quite a lot of onboard storage

CPU: Xeon 1230v3 - GPU: GTX 770  - SSD: 120GB 840 Evo - HDD: WD Blue 1TB - RAM: Ballistix 8GB - Case: CM N400 - PSU: CX 600M - Cooling: Cooler Master 212 Evo

Update Plans: Mini ITX this bitch

Probably be one of these stupid "gaming phones" like a Nokia N-Gage.

They'll end up using a Tegra processor "cuz ma mobile geams" and wonder why it overheats and does itself in xD

Please no Razer. At least keep it with the crazy Asian market.

I highly doubt the nexbit acquisition was about phones. Their cloud expertise was more likely.

That being said if they do make a phone, I'm calling it right now. RGB Cloud Gaming phone with active cooling, analogue sticks and buttons built into it that uses some Nvidia Gamestream cloud gaming solution like the shield does.

razer phone? nope.

seeing how the build quality of razer products has been going downhill over the last decade while the prices are still high as ever, it will just be an overpriced fashion item without real quality.

we already have enough of those on the market.

im excited for this in the same way that im excited for that 3 screen thing they had, sure it would be cool but would i get one nope.

their phones need to beat Samsung and apple as the two big players in the premium phone market, if google cant get people to move to their phone how the hell are razer a company that almost no one outside of gaming knows of going to be able to successfully shift units.

i feel like they would have to something crazy like put a kayby lake pentium prossessor in there and 16gb of RAM and 512Gb storage

i personally wouldnt buy one anyway im to locked into iOS due to my depedancy on imessage, facetime and the apple watch

I lurk a lot

The Razer Phone is their way to promote their Razer Pay (zgold/zsilver) and further their ambitions in the Android and payment markets. People would buy it just because it's Razer and because they probably get some bonus Razer Rewards for it towards other stuff relevant to them (discounts on hardware/games instead of "FREE 1 year DirectTVNow subscription").

In terms of quality, I expect it to be about as good as their current software. So it'll probably suck donkey balls, which is fine since that's about as good as an iPhone.

The smartphone market is over-saturated as it is, "newcomers" trying to make a place for themselves and failing at it happens all the time. Not expecting Razer to have any kind of real success in that market.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 3700x / GPU: Asus Radeon RX 6750XT OC 12GB / RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8GB DDR4-3200
MOBO: MSI B450m Gaming Plus / NVME: Corsair MP510 240GB / Case: TT Core v21 / PSU: Seasonic 750W / OS: Win 10 Pro
