Amazing gaming machine for the time. Light-years ahead of any console.

Compaq Presario 2286, my dad bought it for me when I started highschool in 1999.

It was amazing.

I had a very similar model, but with a standard mid tower case.  It was from 1999 and it had Windows 98 on it.....I had it until 2005 when I finally got a desktop with windows XP on it.

There never was a quad core Core 2 Duo... Just dual cores... That's what Duo means.

wrong twice. The Fairchild Channel F is the first microprocessor based console

The IBM 5150, which used the 8088 is the first PC. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Personal_Computer

My first PC was a 258, not "the" first pc. Also the Atari really popularized the use of microprocessors in consoles. Yes, the FCF came first.

Okay, the first computer in the house that I used was a Compaq Presario 6450NX. Pentium 4, 256MB RAM, Windows XP.

The next, it's a curveball. My first personal desktop, and still one of my favorite computers. A Late 2011 Mac Mini. Intel Core i5 2415M, 8GB RAM, 120GB SSD, 500GB HDD, OS X Mavericks/Windows 7 dual boot.

And the most recent, my beautiful but flawed main rig. I hope to get a Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer, MSI Z87 MPOWER, Intel Core i7 4790K/4770K and NZXT Kraken G10 for it.

The first computer I ever used was an old IBM PC running MS-DOS (probably 3.0 or 4.0, whichever was before Windows 95). Looked something like this:

1990_IBM-PC_AT.jpg

The first computer I ever owned was a Compaq laptop before it was acquired by HP, in 2004.

Since then, I've owned a variety of pre-built and custom built PCs.

My First Computer was an Old OEM Dell PC from back in 2000. It has a staggering 1GB of RAM and an Nvidia 7800GT xD That computer killed games at max settings! Eventually though my mobo became outdated and the Dell OEM case didn't allow mobo swapping so when the parts list got too long I got stucck with console gaming instead for 8 long years. Now I've got a great machine that I absolutely love and will be upgrading a few things here and there as time goes on!

My first computer was custom built by my Dad and I could use it at a young age.

Actually, I just remembered that I use to play on a commodore Vic-20 (cannot exactly remember the model name) with a Cassette player called the Commodore 1530 Datassete Unit model C2N  .. Which I used a lot in 1998-1999 at the age of 2.
