Well I wouldn't do 2 Fury Xs or 980 Tis on 650W, or any two 250W cards.

Those are pretty much old GPUs now. Plus that Seasonic should be able to handle that stuff without overclocking fine. Those things are underrated a ton. I think I recall the 650W Prime Titanium doing 900W on Tomshardware.

1080 Ti is also 250W

 

I thought that card power consumption would be going down for GPUs, but the 1080 Ti actually pulled a bit more power than the 980 Ti.

Yeah, all Pascal cards use more power than their equivalent predecessors.

Fair enough.  The 12v rail alone is 648W, with another 100W on the 3.3v + 5v rails.  I wouldn't be surprised if I could push 750W through it.  Having said that, I'm not a big fan of SLI/Crossfire setups.  I prefer a single, faster card.  In any event, I only run 1080p, so it's pretty much a moot point.

Hey guys, 

anyone here know anything on the FSP Hydro range, Not the Hydro X. I just got the Hydro 600w for my Lapis build (See Sig) and while the Hydro X is in a very good tier I couldn't find the non X version.

These Hydro units are pretty new, and they look to be pretty mediocre since they're most likely group regulated. Tier 4 at best, if reviews show it be bad I'd replace it.

Voltage regulation seems OK up to 400W, then the unit loses quite some voltage (the 5V rail is at 4.86V at full load, the 12V rail is at 11.85 too)

 

Ripple is fine, 40mW on the 12V at full load, a less amazing 30mV on the minor rails.

 

Looks like a T4 unit. @STRMfrmXMN wanna add this or wait for someone to do protection features / PWR_OK?

@Energycore thanks man, Its running a i7-3770, EVGA 580, 1 SSD 1 HDD 8GB ram 1 DVD Drive. all the power calculators I tried said around 470+/- watts, went with a 600w to be safe as thought quality wasn't as high, but best in my price bracket.

It's already gonna be tier 4 with what it has. Lack of protections would bump it down a tier to 5 maybe?

I'd say so yeah. If any of OPP / OVP / SCP don't work, that's a T5. If most don't work, T6

Well here is some info on the Rosewill Glacier after a few pages of google digging.

 

The OEM is Andyson, with a unknown platform.

All 80+ Bronze, with a operating temperature of 40 C.

12V capacity ranges from 37A to 100A and wattage from 500-1200W

That's usually a mediocre to bad PSU alert, when a manufacturer doesn't provide review samples to anyone. We have it in limbo for that, but generally I don't think very highly of it because low-end Andyson units aren't great.

And that's it, not an amazing review but it's definitely no better than T4. That deviation from the 12V makes me want to do T5 honestly.

@STRMfrmXMN the LEPA MX-F1 series is rated Tier 4 out of Tier 5 at PCMR tier list. Its not on here from what I see.

well the 3 T7 PSUs are sort of usuable, just that the hexa's ripple isn't good and the elite and N1 won't last long. this thing would rather kill your components than power them.

I've always seen T7 as unusable, don't go close to them. If the Hexa+ is usable I suppose, then maybe move it to T6. But T7 is reserved for stuff out of spec

don't get me wrong, they both suck and i wouldn't like using them at all. but if you did use them, the hexa's ripple at full load still isn't enough to nuke the parts, you could still use the elite for a couple of years and both still run full wattage just fine(sort of). that lepa unit though would easily kill your PC with that 600mv ripple.
