PSU Tier List [OLD]

Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

This is a legacy list. It is no longer being updated.

The new PSU Tier List can be found here:

7/11 in Japan seems to be doing pretty well on the other hand :P

Great food (especially desserts/cakes), low prices, what else can you ask for? :D

The perceived doing well is really the reflection of the 7/11 brand and how there is so many outlets.

The thing is, the way that 7/11 head makes money is, they sell off licences to make a 7/11 store, then they take a large percentage of the revenue (not profit) that those stores makes.

It works good if you are a large store that is not near other stores, but as soon as you are a small inner city outlet with 6 7/11's on the same block that you are on (which isn't unlikely), there is no way of making money without cutting money on things that they really shouldn't be reduced back on.

450w, Bronze 80+, semi mod. Deserves a place somewhere? And decently priced too

Looking at reviews this looks like a competitive PSU. Nice find!

Not the thoroughest, but it will do

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

That's a completely different design btw. That Triathlor is an Enermax design (the FC version is the modular model which you can see a review of it here) with DC-DC, while the Triathlor Eco that Dex linked to is a group regulated CWT GPK (like the Cooler Master Bv2 or the 100-230V version of the Corsair VS350-650, but I believe the Enermax version has the bridge rectifier heatsink IIRC).

Ahh thanks. If I got that right that means the Triathlor is fine, the Triathlor ECO is very low-end

Yes I get you. Just nitpicking.

Especially since you can get good PSUs for $48, anyone with budget over $400 has no reason not to dish out the $15 more compared to the $35 low-end units.

At stock at least, I don't think any Ryzen 7 could draw over that. Got bench? (Keep in mind stuff like TPU's numbers is whole system power consumption

Looks like those numbers are off by a bit, it's 110W under Prime95 Small FFTs in TomsHardware's tests.

Small FTT numbers, all three goes over their rated TDP :D

Probably safe to call 8-core Ryzens 100W CPUs, 150W when OC

It's made to compete with the newer Corsair CX / M. However, since it is priced very well, has a passive / active cooling mode switch, better HDB fan, and full modularity, it's a better deal than the CX / M. As somebody at JG said, it may be a "CX killer". So as long as EVGA / Super Flower doesn't fuck up this DC-DC unit, it will like be my go to recommendation in the budget segment.

Damn glad to know!

@STRMfrmXMN this might even be a T2 unit if they don't fuck it up. Between the fan and DC-DC. Or even T1 if it's got all the protection circuits and great voltage/ripple
