Coil whine is fine and has nothing to do with the PSU, unless the PSU is making the sound.

Eh, sometimes the PSU can contribute to GPU coil whine. IDK why, perhaps an electrical engineer can comment on it, but my friend's 270X lost its coil whine issues when we replaced his craptastic PSU with a CX450M. I've read other anecdotal examples of this.

Besides existing, it's also group regulated, far as I could find, which would put it no higher than the same T4 here and in some places costs more than the non-modular 2017 CX550.

CXM Green (T4) ends in x30 or x00. CXM Grey (T3/T2) ends in x50. That's DC-DC.

Doesn't look that great but is better than the stiff glued heatshrink because its not as stiff in that part.

Extend the B2 line with some sort of custom Super Flower, but make it right, call it the B4, make a Leadex II Gold G4, and do something with P2/T2 to make it better and skip 3

My bad though.

Huh. It is weird, that Corsair calls this new CXM 2015 Edition because it came out to market in late 2016. I remember us being excited about it coming out.

DC-DC is fine not being marketed imo, technical stuff about PSUs is usually not very accessible to the consumer so marketing that this PSU has "An LLC Resonant Half Bridge with DC-DC conversion for the minor rails" doesn't sound very appealing to your average gamer.

Yeah, it's not really necessary to note it (but still good to know and not any less accessible than anything else in the tech specs IMO), the thing here is that they DO have a "The LLC resonant topology with DC to DC ensures complete compatibility with all modern day PCs." line on all their non-M CX models.

The lower wattage CX-M's don't have DC to DC.  Only the 750W and 850W.   They're all double forward.

The CX does have DC to DC.  They're a good year or so newer than the last generation CX-M.

Except the ones labeled "2017 Edition", of course.  Those have all the FETs upgraded to Infineon because the Chinese FETs kept blowing up inexplicably (they were operating within spec).

The CX-M could use a refresh to LLC and DC to DC so it matches the non-M version.  I've been trying for over a year.  But the cost adder of that, plus the cost adder of it being semi-modular, brings it to the cost of Vengeance or even TX-M.

Haha..  You're right.  I lost track.  It's just double forward instead of LLC.  Too many lines to keep track of.

Ok... So CX and CX-M both have DC to DC.  CX is an LLC topology and CX-M is double forward.

I think the only Corsair right now that doesn't have DC to DC is VS.

The CXM is the same as Veangance with a shitty protection chip and not full "Wapanese" Caps...

But there are the first units with DC-DC for the system integrator level...

I'm curious as to why you think a WT7502 is "shitty".

It doesn't have OPP, but that's managed by the PWM/PCF IC.  It doesn't have OTP, but that's handled by the fan controller.  It doesn't have OCP, but it's a single +12V rail PSU with DC to DC, so OPP takes care of that.

Because it has no dedicated +12V input pin, only VCC...

Why doesn't nobody (except for Delta) make their own (digital) Supervisiors??

And why aren't there many +12V Only Supervisior Chips available?? (well, they exist - but only in the larger 14pin packages...)

Most 3rd party types don't seem great and have bad UVP or OVP trip points...

wasn't it the PS223 that has +12V UVP at around 8,5V??
