It's not a detailed translation so imma do the main stuff

First part they talked about overall box and unit, nothing special. The box is written in English so it's self explanatory

Size of the PSU is standard: 140×150×86 mm (Wide  H) and weighs 1.8 kg

Cables:

  • 20+4 pin connector (60 cm)
  • CPU 4+4 pin (65 cm)
  • 2x VGA 6+2 pin (60 cm)
  • 2x each with 3 SATA 40 + 12 + 11 cm
  • Molex 4x 40 + 11 + 11 + 11 cm

OEM is CWT

Inside the PSU:

  1. EMI filter
  2. Full wave rectifier
  3. Converter
  4. LLLC resonance converter
  5. x
  6. x
  7. Power transformer
  8. Standby transformer
  9. Radiator
  10. DC DC Transformer 3.3 V and 5 V
  11. Filter LC

---

graph (1) is Voltage output stability

Horizontal is Voltage in Watt

Vertical is, load in Volt

graph (2) standby psu

horizontal is Voltage

veritcal is Current in Amp

No, as Jonny has said before, the CX 2017 Non-Modular can either be the CWT platform used in the CX 2017 Modular series or a Great Wall PSU, and he said both were able equally well preforming, so 50% should be exaclty the same as the CX 2017 Modular and 50% will be somewhere near the CX 2017 Modular.

A little off, the CX 2017 uses only the Great Wall platform; if it's manufactured by CWT it'll be CWT making a Great Wall platform PSU. It's the same exact PSU, it'll have the same internals whoever it's made by.

Actually... no.

If we're talking about the CX750M and CX850M with the "2017 Edition" on it, those have updated SR cards that use Infineon MOSFETs and a driver IC.  Much more stable and reliable +12V now.

There is no "CX 2017 Edition".  Just gray label CX which are better than the old green labeled stuff.  They're LLC and DC to DC and are made by either GW or CWT.

Stop lumping CX and CX-M together.  If you're talking about CX-M, say CX-M.  If you're talking about CX, say CX.  I don't know why they're not on the same platform.  Wasn't my idea.  Wasn't my choice.  Happened before I joined Corsair.  They decided to experiment with dual sourcing, used the CX as the test and didn't bother to also do the CX-M at the same time.

As turkey pointed out you might want to get in touch with PCPP about that since that's how they list it and thus many have called it that. I've always lumped them into "grey CX" but I can't change other people.

Why is the Cooler Master Masterwatt Maker in tier 1? The performance isn't that great, according to the Jonnyguru review.

The MIJ edition did great, though

Everyone calls the CX grey the "2017 Edition" because PCPP and pretty much every retailers calls it that

If I'm using a Rx 580 an i5-4460 and 16gb of ddr3 ram at 1600mhz would an EVGA 600BQ be a bad choice? I already have the power supply and I'm planning on buying a new case, the new ram and the 580 and can't really afford a new psu at the moment. Will the 600bq be non safe?

He heavily, heavily factored value into performance there. It performs as well electrically as other units in T1 so it stays there even though it's a stupid thing to spend money on.

It should be fine. It's not a tremendously bad PSU, just not one you should buy, if that makes sense. Like, for example, the many times mentioned Corsair CXM would have been a better choice for the price you paid for that unit.

Got a Corsair HX650 for free today.

Going to use it in my spare computer.

I got quite excited, I thought I was getting the S12G version... Nope, it is the S12II version.

So I am going from a Seasonic S12II (Antec Earthwatts EA380) to a Seasonic S12II (Corsair HX650 [CMPSU-650HX]), Yay!

Alright, so yesterday was my birthday (yay me, spent most of my money on a Fractal Design Define Mini C and a HyperX Cloud Core) and got a new PC as well (specs are on my profile). A CX600M isn't bad, right? I've heard a lot of crap about it but it's not like it's going to destroy the damn thing, is it?
