While being annoyed at my fans spinning up I thought I might aswell put down a little benchmark just with the CPU OC, still need to get that ram to run at 3000Mhz, but it is past 4am so next time :)

Alas that is how high this chip wants to clock, guess no win in the silicon lottery for me this time (Goodbye old 3770K which managed 5.0Ghz)

Hmm... my motherboard doesn't recognize the processor's stepping, giving me an microcode update error that I can ignore each time I boot. Reckon that's got something to do with it? Aside from that, I don't see what could be holding it back.

I made sure to not have anything else running... unless I left Rainmeter open =/

I'll close everything and try running Cinebench again

Edit: My 200th post! That's... cool I guess, idk.

Top - CPU

Bottom - GPU

Unable to push my 8320 past 4.7Ghz :( Possibly could if I upped the voltage but don't feel comfortable with putting too much voltage through it.

Still trying to figure out this Gigabyte BIOS, but I'm off to a pretty decent start.  :D

Is it just me, or does that seems like low voltage for that result :o

4,8GHz on 10 core CPU ... that's something new.

May I ask what temps did you get? Already delided it? Are you going for 5GHz?

Did Intel provide any infos, what's safe voltage for 24/7 usage on those CPUs?

Damn man you are fast with this new hardware.

As far as temps, it was hitting 80c on the hottest core and 82c on the package during Cinebench testing at 4.8 with 1.24v.  My house was warm during the testing (25c) so I may try again when cooler or move it to the basement for more testing.

No real information on voltages at this time, but 1.24v definitely isn't anything to worry about.  It's hitting those voltages on stock configurations.

I've got two more 7900X CPUs to test.  After that, I'm picking the best out of three and that'll be it for binning this time around as I need to stop all the tweaking and do more using.  haha

Oh, and I need to delid the winner.

Will you wait for der8auer's Delid Die Mate X before you start binning? :D

No, I'll test all 3 now since there is no delid tool available yet.  $1k is a bit much to risk delidding without a tool.

That'd baller for a 4C but that fact that it's a 10C part is just amazing.

Isn't that voltage amazing?  I'm sure that if my ambient wasn't so high that I could have pulled off just a bit lower, but it is what it is.

Speaking of 4 core part.  IPC matches or exceeds Kaby Lake clock for clock.   Once I done testing, I'm going to set up a per core overclock or tweak Turbo Boost 3.0 so that the best cores are hitting higher clocks than the rest so I can have the best of both worlds for daily use.

Contrary to all the bullshit floating around these forums, single-threaded performance still matter greatly in daily use applications.
