@Jumper118 @harrynowl so should I just get that p5q I linked and get some DDR2 and start buying random old CPU's?

IDK if I will get it or not, I want to save up and buy a 980 TI Classified if EVGA releases one, which I'm pretty dam sure they will.

at that price you should. you could sell it on for double.

Here is the FX8320 on phase. its very strange..........

well not really. 5.5ghz in R11.5 is good. R15 freezes all the time. and over 5.408ghz 2003 gets a lower score. at least its higher than it was on air now.

Seems like you should be getting more with phase, then again it's an 8320 and not an 8350.  I reckon you'd get a few extra hundred mhz out of an 8350?

yeah. any less voltage it would get bosd 124, which is more cpu voltage, so the only way to get a higher score is more volts or a better chip. i could put more volts through it then i did, but because the vrm and northbridge are only on the stock heatsinks with fans, if i use too much voltage then they could still overheat.

That feel when you have power saving mode on and can't figure out why you're getting 20 second super pi 1m scores...

Turned it off, then I got 8.4 seconds lol

I'm not overclocked very far, and for some reason 5820k gets realllly low scores in super pi 1m, IDK why.

Like, people with 3930k's at 5.1 are beating people with 5820k's at 4.9, not sure why.  I think DDR4 is goofy for benchmarking to be honest..

I think it's the latency of DDR4 that's the issue, maybe if I lower my clock speed and get to like CL10 or something it will work, idk.

super pi is all about the memory. also if they are using windows xp thy will get a slightly faster time.

post-155566-0-57530200-1432919738_thumb.

Looks retarded, sounds retarded, is retardedly dangerous, and it does an awful job of cooling because I put far too much thermal paste on by accident, but ho hum. I do need a PWM controller for it since my motherboard caps out at 25% minimum signal which isn't close to quiet enough.

post-155566-0-97126200-1432919751_thumb.

On a side note, I've totally broke this CPU, anything over 4.6 and I get a clock interrupt BSOD and I have no idea why, more voltage doesn't fix it even at 4.7

Threw them on imgur for the sake of an easy scroll through. Though I did notice I don't have an option to enable XMP, that only available with all 4 DIMMS populated or is something broken here.

Anyways, shooting for 4.8 @1.45v, will boot into Windows at 1.35v but as soon as I put load on it I BSOD. Every setting other than the multiplier and voltage are at default

That's what I was thinking. But I haven't touched anything outside of multiplier, voltage and active cores, so I don't know what would have broke it

It's because AI Overclock tuner is left on auto.

The Sabertooth Boards don't Support the 4/5-way optimization at all. And I was able to still enable XMP on my Z87 Sabertooth with it left on as well.

there are a lot of things on auto.

put the cpu core voltage in manual and turn off any c states and power saving features like speed step etc.

set your dram voltage to the xmp voltage and set the xmp timings manually.

Core voltage at manual and power saving options off, still hitting a clock interrupt BSOD.

After a bit of Google, apparently the RAM I have doesn't have an XMP profile, hence no option. And I don't know the first thing about RAM over clocking

what ram is it exactly? it says auto in the bios is 10-11-10-30-1T so i would start there and set those as the primary timings and set the dram voltage to 1.65v. what is the bosd code exactly? its normally 0x00000000000then some random number and maybe a letter.

It's a 2x8GB kit of HyperX Fury 1866MHz. Keyed in ram timings and speed manually with 1.65v, same BSOD. Just gonna give a picture of the BSOD screen, take what you can.

more cpu volts needed by the looks of it.

0x124 = add/remove vcore or QPI/VTT voltage (usually Vcore, once it was QPI/VTT)

0x101 = add more vcore

0x50 = RAM timings/Frequency add DDR3 voltage or add QPI/VTT

0x1E = add more vcore

0x3B = add more vcore

0xD1 = add QPI/VTT voltage

0x9C = QPI/VTT most likely, but increasing vcore has helped in some instances

0X109 = add DDR3 voltage

0x0A = add QPI/VTT voltage

0x1A = Memory management error. It usually means a bad stick of Ram. Test with Memtest or whatever you prefer. Try raising your Ram voltage. Can also mean more juice for the south bridge ICH volts

0x19: memory voltage

but another thing to try would be to set the load line calibration to very high or extreme and the current capability to 120 or 130% which will be under external digi+ power control.

0X109 = add DDR3 voltage

0x0A = add QPI/VTT voltage

0x1A = Memory management error. It usually means a bad stick of Ram. Test with Memtest or whatever you prefer. Try raising your Ram voltage. Can also mean more juice for the south bridge ICH volts

0x19: memory voltage

I was worried that would be the case. Even if I put it up at 1.5v I'm getting the same, so I guess I'll just call it at 4.6 until I go under water or delid. Where would I start with RAM overclocking and how much extra would it give me?

It should be unless your BIOS is strange.

Just the RAM not having the profile. Should really grey out the option if there isn't an XMP profile rather than just come up with "Disabled" but whatever

its strange. the bosd would say its the cpu voltage, but i have a feeling it is something else. overclocking the ram is a pretty simple way to get 10cb+ extra. firstly you will need to use your last stable overclock- 4.6ghz on 1.3v. then set the primary timings and the dram voltage to 1.65v. once you have done this you have 2 options, although you might only have 1. the first and easiest option is to just bump the speed up to 2133mhz. this is very easy, but it doesn't always work. the second option is to tighten the primary timings and maybe set some of the secondary timings as well.
