I've gone up to 1.43 something to get 5.2ghz on air. Temps weren't hot at all, but anywho. That's how I got the 2nd fastest single core score. @ProKoN Doesn't count since he/you used Dice...

 

Edit: Well, I do have the Intel OC warranty

That was also outside of a case with the rads thrown out in the Canadian Winter Abyss... A bit no fair. I did mine in a closed fractal r4 with the side panel on a Noctua d15

This was actually a rma chip. My first one was hitting 94c on the stock cooler and I tried reapplying the thermal paste. Got this next and it turned out great

In Michigan and Canada with just air coolers you only need to open your window during the winter when it gets to -10F to -40F and you're good to go. ;)

i hit similar clocks on air by putting my gear in the freezer.

i use fridge freezer.  i can bench for about 20 min before it heats up. not recommended.

I need to try and figure out ram timings for benching cause with 4 sticks its only liking T1 Command rate anything else and it throws a total fit on me.

So I was able to get 4.6GHz core cache @ 1.35v, but I couldn't get 5 @ 1.45v, 4.8 @ 1.4v, and 4.7 @ 1.4v. Temps were fantastic on my Noctua though.

So I was able to get 4.6GHz core cache @ 1.35v, but I couldn't get 5 @ 1.45v, 4.8 @ 1.4v, and 4.7 @ 1.4v. Temps were fantastic on my Noctua though.

Noice. Temps are really awesome on that Noctua.

Although you shouldn't put more than 1.3V through your Cache on ambient. But that's just me, I tend to be on the careful side with my stuff.

@rtsurfer do you think it's worth running ram at 3000 if it means I can't push as far on the CPU & Cache?

 

I was getting up to 4.8 ghz core and 4.5 on cache at 2400 mhz BCLK 100, with 3000 mhz ram I can only get to around 4.75 and 4.38 with BCLK at 125.

 

Btw running stable for the last 2 days at 4.5 ghz core 1.265v and 4.0 cache at like 1.3v Vccin at like 2v. (I think it would only take like 1.2v to be stable for that cache, but I haven't fiddled with it yet)
