GTX 1080M Specs revealed! What a shame.....

Pascal is the same as maxwell just clocked higher,  going down to 16 nm dose not mean increased transistor count but more transistor density.

I call bs....

Do you know what happens when they make the node smaller?

It allows them to fit more transistors in the same space.  16nm is the distance between transistors, the closer they put them together, the more they can fit inside the chip.

Still just a modded version of Maxwell.

Nvidia did not deliver what they promised and that is it. They really fucked up and tried to promise us things that we could not get, lots of companies have done this, it does not mean that it is okay in any way shape or form, but it happened.

Oh noes, someone disagreed with your opinion on the internet! Clearly the best choice of action is to be "overly vocal" about it to try and force them to accept your OPINION...

On topic though I don't really know what is stopping them from putting in a full desktop 1080 in since they did it to the 980. The only thing I can think of is that they want to sell the cutdown version now and save that for an "upgrade" in 8 to 12 months to squeeze more money outta people's wallets.

Must've been one hell of a room heater. So much heat being outputted the hot air coming from that heatsink would actually produce noticeable airflow. Put a fan on top of it and it would spin on its own, right? Free electricity and room heating, woohoo!

I don't even know why he's bothering arguing with me about overclocking stuff, competitive overclocking has been a significant portion of my life for the last year, I've been in an Overclocking magazine, and climbed up the ranks on HWBOT to 18TH in the USA out of 49,378 accounts.

Not trying to brag at all, just saying 90% of his posts are from saying "don't get the 960" get  "r9 380" or "r9 280" while I actually have experience with the subject at hand about oc'ing 980s.

And did they actually promised ALL laptop gpus would compete with desktop ones? I need a citation on that.

Failing that it'd be up to manufacturers to configure desktop gpus on laptops like they've done in the past btw.

I'm more than sure that will happen, since AMD is way back on mobile chips so NV can do whatever the hell they want. Same as Maxwell.

However, the 1080m looks pretty good to me. Can't say I'm disappointed, when compared to 980 and especially 980m (which we should be comparing it with).

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I have been lucky and unlucky with my 780 ti I got it up to around 1500MHz that is a really good OC for that card, but I have also had two die on me... They where both 100% stable on their OC.
