GTX 1080M Specs revealed! What a shame.....

I'm more than sure that will happen, since AMD is way back on mobile chips so NV can do whatever the hell they want. Same as Maxwell.

However, the 1080m looks pretty good to me. Can't say I'm disappointed, when compared to 980 and especially 980m (which we should be comparing it with). Anyone got the numbers, how does it compare with a 1070?

The 1070 has similar specs but runs 400MHz higher. How do you expect?

Beastly overclock, sure. But still not quite there...

if we take it theoretically then it is possible, you need to be very lucky to get such a well binned chip and we would need to see a slightly better cooler.

It's 80MHz away on a reference board. It's close enough, especially considering Maxwell's lower overall clocks compared to Pascal

If OCd, quite close, possibly the same. Expect for it to be on pair with 980Ti out of the box.

It's a laptop man. 150W is already WAY more than 99% laptops can cool

Most are sleeping except Mortis. I don't know what's taking him so long.

And it won't be a "ban" as such. just warnings. If you get enough then you might be banned.

Most laptops are designed with 120W in mind. 150W would melt them

Easy - certain people said it overdelivered rather than fail.

Isn't 120w for a laptop still really high? I would have thought like 100w max with average of 80w

And those that will have it will in my mind be able to achieve an OC, not a record breaking but a respectable amount. After all, 980 has a TDP of 165W iirc and look how that worked. So it should be able to run cooler while being on a 980Ti level. I don't see a problem here.

We were promised amazing things from many companies, the 1080m is still better, way better than the 980.

don't forget pascal has worse IPC than maxwell though . They have the same amount of cuda cores and pascal will need higher clocks on average to match maxwell when it comes to per core performance . This isn't WAY better , just slightly better at best considering how well the 980 overclocks.

It took a year roughly for a desktop 980 to appear in a laptop.

I imagine the same time span for the 1080, but that's just a guess :)

Well most of Asus laptops today has bad cooling even the G series, there are some few that have good cooling I have to generalize or else I would make 100page report of every single laptop that has bad cooling, well Lenovo Y is pretty good this gen, but again I need to generalize the **** out of this.
