Yes but what was the card in? What was the thermal output? The power draw? I can have a crazy powerful laptop but if it can't perform like advertised for more then 20 minutes due to heat and battey life. It isn't that powerful or practical.

I'll buy the best I can for my money when the time comes. Only thing I care about is what I get for my money, and as far as I'm concearned if apple releases the best GPU in my budget you can be sure as hell I'd buy it.

980's have to be very cold to do 1600+ (we're talking 20-30c load), and almost none of them do 1600 24/7, let alone in benchmarks.

You've obviously no experience with 980 overclocking, let alone using any kind of common sense.

If Nvidia released a new mobile chip which was 20% slower for the same price, people would lose their shit and their stock would dive overnight

 

The only reason someone would spend another $3000 on a laptop would be 50% or better performance

I'm suspecting what he meant was you don't game on your battery because it nerfes the performance and drinks the battery dry in a matter of minutes, the 6970M in my alienware will kill my battery in less then half an hour, even with reduced clocks.

dude, im a veteran on notebookreview forums and 2 of my mates have Sager p0 series laptops with 980's and with a modded bios that allows 1.23v which is max on the voltage controller for the cards they both top out at like 1400mhz.
