It's a solid card but not worth 700$+ in my opinion....

for me it's not either...i don't know about you...you run fairly low end stuff...a GTX 1070 upgrade in the pipe?

i will look out for the 1080ti though that's for sure! B|

I completely agree, but I do think it's worth the $600 that the non-reference... Er... I mean founder :P will be sold for.

Good luck finding it for 600$ though. Most AM ones are usually 50-200$ on top

I can't even afford a 970 at 300$ :D

This is why I complain, cause 5 years ago I could afford a 570. Now I can barely get a 960. Nvidia prices are going shittier each year

meh, i hope GP100 doesnt dissappoint nearly as much as this.

I REALLY want to do a multi vendor setup. Mostly because if i get one of each of the best GPUs, i can play any game title at THE BEST performance by just swapping a cable :P

And when multi-vendor GPU is in place, i can just use that for even MORE performance.

What? Most companies have a base version of cards that has nothing, or next to nothing, on top. I'm not talking about the Lightning, I'm talking about the basic ACX 1.0 / 2.0.

You mean the Strix? The one that literally performs worse than refence on some cards? Or the G1 Turbine? That can muffle a jet airplane?

Nope. 980 is 1000-1200BGN. 580 retailed for 700BGN back in the day.

Fuck the windforce line tbh. The Strix performs worse because it's default fan curve is set to be very quiet. No, I'm talking about ACX and gaming g4.

you kidding right?!

have you seen that thing go? it's a very siseable performance increase coming from a 300mm² chip with 180TDP i think it's actually pretty impressive.

GP100 will be crazy powerful as it will pack nearly twice as much transistors on a slightly more than 2X bigger die at 610mm² it's gonna be a monster that for sure and probably the final nail in AMD's coffin when it come to mass production of high-end graphics processors.

Cause Nvidia's MSRP never drops here. 970 launched at 350-400$ IIRC and that NEVER drops nowadays here

Just look at that screenshot from Rise of the tomb raider @Prysin look how weak the FuryX is compaired to the new nvidia chip...it's getting completely obliterated:

970 launched at $350. Just like the 570 did. In the U.S. the 970 (non b-stock) can be found for about $300 on the dot. Same as the 570 nearing the end of its life.

why cant people get it that 4k and up you WILL need either the best single card, or TWO high end cards. It was like that for this generation, it will be like that for the next generation.

Whose "people"? Anyway, this is poised to become the best single card for ___ months, so it's pretty relevant to discuss.

570 new was much cheaper. You could get a new 580 for the price of a 970 (release prices)

Keep dreaming.
AMD doesnt need to win the Enthusiast segment, because the revenue is in the 150-300 USD market. That is where you make actual PROFIT. why compete over 5-15% of the total customer base, when you can go for the remaining 85-95%+?

I do not expect AMD to beat GP100 in every way. Atleast not the top end VEGA. But it doesnt make sense for AMD to go for that title either. Mostly because their financial position makes it outright retarded to fight Nvidia over a performance title at the very top where only a handful can afford the product (sadly, i am within that handful of people who can afford and WILL buy at that price)

Well after reading the other benchmarks, maybe I'll change my SLI for a 1080Ti if it's based on HBM2.

It's a solid card for 1440P, but not worth 700€ imo.

Weird. In the U.S. it launched at $350 and never budged below $330. Hence the 560 ti being the king.

We are talking about a double node shrink here. With that in mind, it really isn't THAT impressive. It means the IPC is pretty much unaltered (PCPer review), so yeah. Pascal as an architecture is not impressive, just the double node shrink that NVidia didn't make.
