If it's not official transactions by the game devs, it's gonna be flooded with spam, or service for hire esp on crowded servers. If you put that all in consideration,  you have to double it up if you think of Asian gold miners, level carries/booster, or just flat out login your account to level for a hefty price. 

 

Hopefully they don't ruin the game, if at all affect VR gaming.

MMORPG's that restrict pvp inside your level and where you can't attack anywhere/anyone you like. Just like most MMORPGs..

even in arenas your gear and level make quite a bit of difference...wether its ff14 or wow. The only mom where you get forced to equal stats, that i could think of , would be gw2, where it turns into a moba style game 5 on 5 with equal stats.

Why can't they make a VRMMO that is not based on SAO but based on its concept anyway? It's going to be much better

Am I the only one questioning how that would work if we ever got nerve gear? As far as laws go? Considering you could be underage, how would that go down in court? It's not physical sex, but its not distinguishable. And what about virtual rape?

Interesting question. I never thought of that.

 

I think we will get issues like that even with just regular VR (not NerveGear tier VR), and that will lead to stupid laws getting passed. Remember the news story about "virtual rape" in GTA? Personally I am a very strong believer in that we should treat virtual things differently from physical things. Murder in a game is legal, murder in real life is not. Rape in game should be legal (starting a game with the feature "rape another player!" should be giving consent. If you don't want to get raped, play another game), rape in real life is not.

 

As for children playing those games, I don't think you can stop it. We haven't been able to stop children from watching porn or playing violent games either, and I don't see that changing with VR. It will probably be really hard to prove that the perpetrator knew that it was a child playing the other character as well, since your character in game won't look like you in real life. I assume the characters in the games will fall under our current laws regarding "simulated child porn". So it will be illegal in some places (UK, Canada, Australia etc) and legal in some (Sweden if it's not too realistic, certain parts of the US like Mississippi, California, New York, Japan etc). So in order for a game to be sold in places where it is illegal, the characters in game would have to be adults.

I mean, imagine going on a cam site which says "all people are 18+", you see a woman that's clearly an adult talking dirty to you, showing you stuff etc, and then it turns out it's actually a 12 year old girl doing some motion tracking. Surely you shouldn't be sentenced for that.
