Where do all the Mac users hang?

Hey all, new forum user but long time LTT follower. I can't seem to find a specific Mac Address forum or a Mac/Apple focused channel other than the 'Everything Not-Windows' section in the 'OS' area.

Where is the best place to post and chat about Mac/Apple etc related topics?

Reddit.  All of the Apple subreddits are very active - almost to a fault.

Anybody who thinks the worst of today's LCDs are unusable should spend 10 minutes trying to play games on a PowerBook 520c.

The G4 iMac was peak Mac. I miss this setup. I still have the iMac in a box; I need to check on the cmos battery... I should set it back up.

I had an original Machintosh. It was a good computer, but was monochromatic. It didn't even do shades of grey, just black and white. I never went back to Mac because most of the software I used was written for Windows only. Even today, a lot of my daily programs do not have a Mac equivalent. But I sure do like the design of the M series Macbooks.

Apple products are flawless and perfect. There is no room for improvement. When the new and improved model comes out, you just buy it without questioning. There is no need for a forum because there are no problems with Apple products.

No, because you didn't really need it to do that after all.

I have both a 520c and 540c, yeah the difference between STN and TFT is astonishing. The price difference was too...

It's a "you" problem, not an "Apple" problem.

I've been getting several "Pages" documents sent to me by many Apple users. It seems that around 90% of my friends and family are Apple users. But for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to open a "Pages" document.

You should be able to open it with https://www.icloud.com/pages then convert it to a .doc. You'll need to create an Apple ID, though. Or you might be able to get LibreOffice to open them, but no guarantees about not messing up the formatting.

No you don't. They are overrated. I only consider mackbook to be good because of the apple chips and they are on battery so power/performance efficiency matters here. iMac doesn't run on battery so this advantage is not a big deal.

OpenCore patcher makes this unnecessary, I have Ventura running on a 2012 Mac Mini and it’s basically faultless.

My Current Setup:

AMD Ryzen 5900X

Kingston HyperX Fury 3200mhz 2x16GB

MSI B450 Gaming Plus

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

EVGA RTX 3060 Ti XC

Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB

WD 5400RPM 2TB

EVGA G3 750W

Corsair Carbide 300R

Arctic Fans 140mm x4 120mm x 1

  • 2 weeks later...

I like old MacBooks because of how easy it is to install Linux on them. I don't like iPads (tablets in general) 'cause I think they're useless. The only things Apple-related I care about is the actual computers and laptops and I think everything else sold by Apple that isn't an actual computer or laptop is a waste of money.

It's mind boggling how a new iPad costs more than my car. My car only cost $3000 years ago when I got it, the idea of someone paying that much for a tablet is nuts.
