You know, looking at that some more, I think even the butt stock replacement would be feasible.  Just use some cushioned padding over a standard butt, and you could pull off the look easily.

Maybe, I'm thinking of using this stock.  With the top rail, basically cut off the front half with a dremel tool and sandpaper, that should get it in the mostly proper shape.
I'll probably have to get some black spray paint to make it darker.  I believe the buttstock on this is removable, leaving a tube.  Could probably cut a 2-liter and stuff it or something for some kinda of strength, then spray paint it black.

(It's a .22 and this is just a project gun to base off of a gun from one of my favorite games, no means to be a bench shooter, so it's not like I have to worry about recoil either)

Technically speaking, wouldn't the absence of a butt-stock (a stock specifically designed to be used from the shoulder, which all long guns have) make it a pistol? I know how the Bucket of Assholes, Trolls, Fuckheads and "Experts" (acronym that anyway you like) would argue...

I've considered several times to get my P2000 painted to look like this (except for the silver base plate on the mag):

I just like the green look for some reason.  Not sure how feasible that is though, considering I like to use it as one of my carry guns.

I put some colors on my G29.

Not really.  It has the ability to accept a buttstock still as the “buffer” tube is still there, so it would still be considered a rifle.  Even if it became classified as a pistol, it wouldn’t be illegal, there’s no legal length on pistols in most states.  Also a two liter ain’t a but stock, lol.

(I’m talking about rifles in this case, not AR pistols cause that’s just depending on the ATF’s mood that week)

So I'm having issues finding an A2 style front sight for a 10/22.  I was kinda hoping someone made some generic junk I could slap on.  (As said, this potential product won't be for but shooting occasionally, it's more of just a fun mod to make a real version of one of my favorite guns from one of my favorite games).

But I'm not having any luck in that endeavor.

I found something I think might work, but it's a long shot.

Doing some cleaning and culling stuff I do not need. need or use any more. And I have a large number of holsters all for either Glocks 30 and 26 and 1911's. And they need a home. they are mostly ISWB by Comp-Tac, Versacarry, and Aliengear. If you can cover postage they are yours.

What did you use for that, paint or something else?  If it was paint, what kind did you use?

I used a paint pens I got at the hardware store. I used non-acetone nail polish remover to clean up. Worked well and I have not had to touch them up for years.

I'm on the TFB TV discord and there's a thing going on right now because some people find the Mosin Nagant fun.

No one has stated they are great rifles, no one has even stated they are good.
People have just said they like them and that they find them fun.

People are mad.  "You have fun on the garbage rod!?"
Yes, some people do, what's your point?

Mosins are fun, but they were a lot more fun when the rifles were $69 and spam cans of 7.62x54R were $79.

I’m not disagreeing with that.  I just stated they were fun (so did others).

I like milsurp, it’s the only reason I want a Mosin.  I’ve fired one quite a few times, I know I like the rifle as a plinker.

Nice. I keep hearing about those, need to try one myself.

I cannot get over the trigger on my XDM. It's just absolutely perfect. I don't have to thing about trigger reset when I'm firing it at the range. The reset point is exactly where the break is (at about the half way point for the travel distance for the trigger), follow up shots are just easy and clean, the break itself is absolutely perfect for my hand and grip strength.

Which is odd to me considering it's a polymer framed pistol, and I've never really enjoyed those. I had a CZ SP-01 Shadow (the black polymer one) and it was horrid. The break was mushy and the reset was almost all the way back out at the beginning of the travel of the trigger.

I'll give report after firing it this weekend. Out of the box the trigger and ergonomics feel decent, especially for the price. I am sure the trigger and such will wear in with use so I will wait until I get some time in on it before going too indepth.

Considering I don't hunt and only buy guns for target or defense, I would only ever buy a bolt gun for funsies.

As such, if it ain't cheap, or chambered in a cheap caliber(.22lr), I ain't buyin! If I could find a mosin that's not beat to hell for a good price, I'd snap it up in a second, though that's a tall order in NYS.

If you're looking for a proper carry gun and you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, the shield cannot be beat, well chosen! Never been a fan of the trigger, but there's worse out there(lookin at you Glock)

I still recommend the LCP, but I love super compactness

The LCP is the perfect micro-carry, and I say that as a smitten Springfield 911 owner(the 911 or 238 is cool but practically the LCP is straight better), but the jump from .380 to 9mm is huge, for an EDC, it's all down to the Shield, or for a bit more, a late gen p365.

Wanna toss something in your pocket to go to the grocery store, or iwb under a tshirt for a summer barbecue, a micro .380 is the perfect companion, but if you wanna hide serious business on your person, it's gotta pack 9mm or bigger.

My LCP is my main carry.  In the winter I'll sometimes carry my CPX-2.  But I'm usually carrying the LCP.  Easier for me to conceal

Hey if that's what works! I'm not here to tell anyone how to carry, and a little gun is leaps ahead of no gun. Given my druthers, I'd owb carry a big dumb "compact" 9 at all times if I could get away with it. All that being said, we just gotta remember that objectively, there are better and worse choices. In a perfect world we'd all have 10mm's open carried in a comfy drop legs, and 5.56's or 7.62's strapped to our backs.

In a perfect world, we wouldn't need to carry at all.  Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world and never will (at least, not on this Earth).

Apex has a trigger kits for the Shield and other M&P series pistols. They do add quite a bit, aren't cheap relative to the cost of the pistol, but hot dog they are nice.

I'm not crazy about modding a carry gun. I'd rather the trigger suck and it still go bang, than it feel amazing and jam when I need it.
