I'm going to give Razer comms a try. I do like Skype but their is also a lot of things I don't like about it. I personally just don't like vent and my friends insist on me using it.

I haven't tried razer comms because: 1, i had problems installing it and 2, i already use ts3 and i'm very satisfied with it's results. So i could say that why bother changing the program i use when me and my friends already use one that gives us what we need. Also i use steam chat voice when needed and it works well enough for me.

Quick edit: I'll give it a try tommorrow and give my opinion.

Skype is great, if no1 joins or leaves while your gaming... otherwise.. your alt tabbed.

Thats why Razer software is better comparing just them two...

That being said, if you use mumble/teamspeak/vent, their pretty much cock of the walk...

Ugly, not really any good functionality. When it's fully released I might try it out again, since it's only BETA now right?

If there is a text chat, will it save the conversation like in skype?

Skype is shit compared to anything. I had to start using it when MS closed MSN. Comms beats it clearly. Ventrilo is other thing. In audio quality and usabilyti I'd say Vent still has advantage, but it has problems with latency and UI, among other things. Something like Mumble and TS3 beat all above easy. Between them its about each ones own prefers.

aside form beta bugs comms is incredibly satisfying.
Like in a channel I'm in, one any time someone signs in or enters voice chat, Ghost gets auto muted. all the time. kinda hilarious.
It used to constantly do half crashes but its stopped that in the latest update.

The overlay is handy. Skype's lack of it makes it a pain.

Only reason I won't switch right away is due to having contacts who'd only ever use Skype. Don't really like having multiple VOIP programs open.

I've always wondered why people completely ignore Steam chat? The quality is fine, in fact I prefer it over Skype, it seems sharper, I'm not really sure what it is about that I prefer in the sound. It's like Razer comms... but better, a more accessible community, the in game overlay has much more functionality, the friends game display actually works i.e. you can join their games not just see what they're playing and Steam hosts the servers as well.

I'm not sure about Skype as I hardly use it, but as far as I can tell it's superior to Razer comms in every way.

It would be something YOU test yourself, because everyone's system is different and I doubt there is any real CPU usage going on in either program thats above 15%.

Just download and try both yourself, you'd notice performance increases easily if your used to a slower system.
