Google Adds Handwriting Input To Android

Today we launched Google Handwriting Input, which lets users handwrite text on their Android mobile device as an additional input method for any Android app. Google Handwriting Input supports 82 languages in 20 distinct scripts, and works with both printed and cursive writing input with or without a stylus. Beyond text input, it also provides a fun way to enter hundreds of emojis by drawing them (simply press and hold the ‘enter’ button to switch modes). Google Handwriting Input works with or without an Internet connection.

Well, about time for me to get a stylis...and a tablet. This seems really, really, really useless on a phone. Hold one, I'm gonna get this on my phone and finish this post with it...

 

Really This is Stupid it's hard to fit handwriting on my Phone but I can confirm it works really well as far as Reconizing letters, even Cursive Or partial Cursive or genitally bad writing. I see this as a useful thing for tablets

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I already have the option to use handwriting on my Nvidia Shield Tablet D:

 

Pretty neat for those who have tablets that comes with a stylus and don't have the option to use handwriting.

The real test of any handwriting software is if it can handle a doctors scribble.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

i have a oneplus one now, and it's a 5.5in screen, and i might be sexting with my penis quite often, so i need to know how this will work for me.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I was able to actually use it pretty well with portrait mode even with my finger on my phone, the "genitals" and "penis" were intentional typos, it's pretty well done really.

I'm pretty sure I can type faster than I can hand write so this really isn't for me. Not to mention my writing is terrible and would break the software.

Wow... It even works beautifully in Luxembourgish and with an putting it as 250 ms (or even 150ms) it goes really fast!
I see this coming for bushiness related or for elders that have difficulty to write on keyboards or are way to slow to type on it.

I'm screwing around with it and it is able to read words that I don't think I could. I didn't use it for very long so I'm sure it's not perfect, but it's still really impressive.

My iPAQ h2210 that I bought in 2003 had really good handwriting input... glad we have finally caught up in 2015
