"Tech News"

seems like GTA Weekly to me

I wish GTA IV was this optimised.

>.>

GTA IV is this optimized, it had a very lengthy options menu with plenty of options.

GTA IV wasn't a lazy port, it just didn't work well with PC architecture, and wasn't really coded to go above 30FPS, just like the previous games. This options menu tells us nothing of how the game will actually perform

Under 3GB of VRAM for 4k, Is Rockstar redeeming themselves for GTA IV?

GTA IV didn't use much vram either, besides this is an estimate, this feature in rockstar games is actually very annoying as they don't let you go above their estimate of vram, so if you have 2GB the game won't let you choose options that would go above that.

I think you'll be okay if you turn the resolution down...

Yeah, I can do Arma 3 fine with 720p on Intel HD 3000 Family.

It desperately needs an FOV-slider. After have been playing CS:GO now for a few months, I won't settle for less.

seriously though agree with him re FOV. It's critical. The closer you are to your monitor and the bigger your screen is the wider your FOV should be in order to seem natural. That's just physics. And since everybody's gaming setup is different there is no one size fits all FOV which the devs can ever dictate.

is it not 29Hz because they had a 30Hz monitor?

Wouldn't that run at 29fps? That's what it's like with my 60Hz TV, can't go above 60fps :S

Bloody hell, even a game that has THREE different anti aliasing methods can't get off their cathartic asses and implement the SUPERIOR AA: CSAA.

Not that I was interested in this game outside of sales three years from now anyway.

In case the moderators do not ban me as requested, this is a notice that I have left and am not coming back.

Hold on hold on, what kind of GPU has 6143mb of video memory?

Except for the Titan, can't think of others. Windows does combine it doe. Check out the Direct X control panel display tab, and you'll see it.

this is truly optimized, damnnnnnnn.

all other companies, good or bad can start crying when they claim the game is "optimized" but yet unable to run at these stats with 4gb Vram used at 4K @29Hz.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

It's not that surprising, they are at 3840x2160.

I was worried when I saw that 4gb Vram usage.

U relieved me with your comment. All fear is gone and my 760 is ready for some 1080p action :P

Even with all these mouse sensitivity options, I'll still be playing with an Xbone controller.

GTA is just a controller game, y'know.

You know ____-much was never really a very good joke

Also rockstar has always allowed aim assist to be disabled, even on console.

It's more I grew up playing San Andreas on a PS2. GTA has always been best played with a controller.

Call it personal preference. Not like anyone's playing GTA for the serious gun play anyway.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was Battle Royal mode if R* let's modders do their thing.

I'm still interested if this will run on my HD 4870

Minimum specifications:
OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
Memory: 4GB
Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
HDD Space: 65GB
DVD Drive

Just about...

I know about min specs, but still it is to min.... don't Know

HD 4870 is 7yo card.... if she can run this even on min specs.... that's impressive

I think this should be put in the OP

Machines at minimum spec are expected to handle GTA V at 800x600 and 20 to 30 frames-per-second - while recommended spec systems should manage 1080p and meet 60fps on medium settings.

Another reminder, Watch_Dogs had lower recommended spec than GTA V, will people be mad when their 770 won't max this out at ultra either?

My R9 270 chose a darn fine time to crap out on me. T_T I really want to play this, and not on an old Radeon HD 6670 GDDR3.

Why is the God of Hyperdeath SO...DARN...CUTE!?

Also, if anyone has their mind corrupted by an anthropomorphic black latex bat, please let me know. I would like to join you.

Ugh, buzzwords

Compressed textures, uncompressed textures, upscaled textures, "ultra is only uncompressed textures"

I doubt texture quality will be much better than the PS4 build of GTA V, but i already told people they shouldn't assume the number reported in the options menu is the actual vram usage

Considering a GTX770 can max out a Battlefield 4,Crysis 3, and Metro LL I would be very surprised if it can't max out GTA V.

I haven't played a single game yet that I couldn't max out on my GTX670OC and I doubt GTA V will change that in the slightest.
