"Halo Online" Beta Coming to PC

Well I'd maybe like it if they actually made the game fun (for me) and made the aiming crosshair smaller. I want to be able to aim for my targets dammit.

As someone who doesn't really like Halo, this actually interests me, especially with that one screenshot.

I know what Russian game I'm playing next, that's for sure. Just wish I could participate in the closed beta. Damn!

I want Halo 2 remastered on the PC.

They made Halo 2 for PC. It was an awful port. Well... awful for the multiplayer. The two PC exclusive maps are in the MCC though.

I don't wanna see Halo 1 remastered on PC though as far as that goes. They made Halo 1 harder for no damn reason. Like i'm playing through on Normal right now and it feels like Legendary Plus. Ridiculous.

I would like to see Halo 3 and 4 make it to PC. And Halo 5 when it's released.

As a Halo fan myself, I must say, I GOTTA PLAY IT! Russian or not, I will find some way to play this game!

*looks  at your avatar*  hehe can tell :P

I'm kinda excited I guess, as long as it plays like a Halo game. If not... well.. GTFO

So why is only in Russia? That is the point I'm not getting here.

I reckon it is because they offer a better feedback audience? I'm not entirely sure myself.

What I think is that they are trying to do is to capture a new audience where they are not use to buying full console or pc games. Releasing a paid Halo game on pc would just mean current Halo fans will gather round but be over looked as another fps game. With Russia highly into f2p, it would be good testing grounds that is dedicated for that market in hopes to bring new fans into the Halo universe, especially since Microsoft is investing heavily to incorporate the Halo franchise into their Operating Systems (desktop, mobile). It would makes sense to have Cortana synonymous to appeal in the hardware market as well.

free-to-play games caught on fastest in South Korea and Russia, where they took over 90% of the gaming market.

Free-to-play games are particularly prevalent in countries such as South Korea and the People's Republic of China.

I don't get why some people are complaining. This is at least something. You shouldn't complain about getting more options, especially if it's for free.

With a bit of luck the game will be good and a hit, which might make them bring Halo 1, 2 and 3 to PC again.

Such a shame that it's Russia only, but hopefully that will change.

My rows of Halo novels on my bookshelf are quite pleased. But micro transactions? Ugh.

"The wheel?" "No thanks, I'll walk, its more natural" - thus was the beginning of the doom of the Human race.

Still not Halo 4. But if it's first-person, then I will probably play it when it rolls out.

Halo died when M$ bought bungie.

Bungie was bought out by MS before Halo CE was even finalized as a game. MS then made it the "killer app" for the Xbox. The rest is history. Halo became huge because of the push that MS gave it.

Halo itself was a gamble. It was the "killer app" but it was an unknown. Yet look at what Halo became.

So no, MS buying Bungie didn't kill Halo. MS buying Bungie gave Bungie and Halo a proper future and cemented it as a pillar of the gaming industry. If "Halo dying" means it is worth at least 3 billion dollars as a franchise, then yes. Of course, MS killed Halo.

Also, hard to take kids who use "M$" very seriously. That joke became old before you were even born.

So this

Was better than this?

And subsequently, the rest weren't any good?

No offence, you just seem upset that your once upon a time esoteric unknown was scrapped in favour of what ended up being a industry juggernaut that is known by people who aren't even gamers. Sorry, I guess you would've preferred Halo stay unknown and "obscure"

Its Halo 3 with a hell of a lot of weapon skins/variants and most importantly - EVERY SINGLE MAP EVER MADE.

You'll notice that it has English. Weather this is for translation purposes or it suggest a proper worldwide release, who knows. You'll also notice that the graphic aren't complete shit. Well, slightly. PC components are expensive in Russia, hence the need to keep the game light. But this is the Halo 3 engine and that is hardly the worst looking thing to have even today, despite being nearly a decade old.

It'll be curious to see how the balancing works. Halo works because everyone is the same. So if all they have for the "pay" portion is getting access to skins and design variants (but all having the same attributes) then this could work pretty well for Russia's market.

@MadSprite, update OP with the trailer?

That map in the video's thumbnail, I haven't seen it since forever.

(Yes, I'm young enough for halo 3 to have been forever ago)

Well if it's anything like Halo 4, MCC, or Halo 5, it won't be Halo, just an FPS with Halo-themed skins and the stupid/childish premise of all multiplayer actually being TRAINING SIMULATORS.

Let me play as elites and I'll be happy.
