Mountain Bikers of LTT?

Just wondering if there any LTT members who have another hobby besides computers . Mountain bikers show yourselves!!

Personally, I've been on and off, never able to find much time for the awesome sport. Hopefully 2015 will change that!

I'm more of a Trail / XC kind of person with a little bit of Downhill mixed in.

Here is my baby.

2014 Kona Precept DL

+ Studded magnesium-alloy platform pedals

+ Odi lock-on grips

Considering in upgrading the brakes and shifter, but those come with a hefty price tag.

I have a Giant XTC 2013. In hindsight I wish I would have got a road bike instead, or at least a hybrid bike.

I do own a mountain bike, but I'm actually a road biker, I only use the dirt rider when it's deep snow etc.

Here's mine. It's a Giant 29er but it's only a hardtail . I have about 2500 miles on it.

 

I generally take the roads since there arent many good trails around here, but I love off roading when possible.

I don't bike that much, but when I do I love it. And my bike is just a normal bike, nothing too shabby (with 24" wheels and shocks)  :lol:

Got pretty good at sliding around corners too. The rear tire is completly bald.

 

Sliding on bikes is SO AWESOME. I love it  I think I bent some wheels doing it as well

From what I can tell, they are non-aftermarket parts, but I could be wrong.

Shimano SLX Shadow for the rear.

I'm moving back into the CBD soon and have been thinking of selling my car and getting a bicycle, with insurance, registration and servicing my car just feels like a $2000 PA hole in my budget before i even think about what i spend on petrol. Its clean, cheap and easy as hell to "park" it somewhere however it feels like a regression in terms of my progress in life lol

I am an okay mountain biker. Two years ago my friends and I drove from the chicago suburbs to the middle of Wisconsin to go mountain biking. I had never gone before and I was using a borrowed cheap bike. There were 40 miles of trails and we did about 25 of them. I have loved it ever sense. I bought a cheap walmart brand mtb to get started and it actually held up pretty well until I brought it to college. I plan to replace the cheap front disk brake with a decent set of clamp style brakes to keep it around for my brother to use. My birthday is next month and I am planning on working over spring break to save up and buy a new mtb. Looking at this in a few different colors.

My mountain bike was left somewhere by my cousin and brother and stolen as a teen and it fit me perfect and had a seat I actually felt comfortable on unlike the seats of today and since then I have only found one bike that I'd consider buying and riding.  Unfortunately when I had money in the fall I did not buy it.  I haven't biked much in a very long time.
