Bang for the Buck Z97 Motherboard Showdown Part 4

ASRock Z97 Ext.3

Gigabyte Z97X-SLI

MSI Z97 U3+

ASUS Z97-C

So, when the dust settles and we compare these four motherboards head to head, is there a clear winner?

Beep boop.

EDIT: For me, it's a tie between Gigabyte and ASRock. I'd willfully pick SLI support over better software control like custom fan curve fan control, maybe a fancier UEFI layout, and other whatnots, like the ones on MSI and ASUS's boards.

My Gigabyte value boards have been outstanding.  My brother also has had a good experience with Gigabyte.  I can't see me trying anything different til they totally fail me.  Gigabyte = winning.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I'd pick up the Asus or MSI board, I'm not too fond of the brown PCB that the Z97-C has.

Also, the outro no gud, it just cuts off right when it starts.

@Slick

I care about budget motherboards. This video series has me more interested in them. Especially after your statement dealing with board performance has little to no impact on overclocking.

What I don't care about...is a FOUR PART SERIES, spread out over a month. Was a real pain.  I think a 10-12 minute video could have easily covered everything in sufficient detail, including a conclusion.

How about customer support from each manufacturer? I have first hand experience and was quite happy with the service I got from asus and knowing if a company stands behind their product is important if the unspeakable should happen.

I am the one who goes bump in the night... usually making a sandwich.

Great vid series! Quite informative....

My experience with Asrock mobos has verified typically terrible download speeds (below 100kBps (in Australia)), as well as a mobo having a doa CMOS battery....

Honestly though, for the price and ease of implementation into the cases I used, I was fairly happy.

Have both a ASUS and Gigabyte motherboards. It is all about fan control and do enjoy ASUS's each fan has its own control approach vs Gigabytes where multiple fans are controlled with one control setting.

Woah, who was complaining they don't care about lower-end tech? Screw those people, I for one like seeing stuff I can afford being showcased.

It being over a month was rough but if this whole thing was condensed to 10-12 minutes it would be terrible

This is often very difficult to review as a... reviewer... we often get special treatment and that isn't fair - also who knows if you get one good OR one bad person by chance

There should be a poll for us to vote which brand we like/prefer.

After using my MSI board and my brother's Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3, I'll say MSI's solution is much better designed and built, although they are 2 different tiers of motherboards.

Don't you dare mention fairy tail on crunchyroll. My heart was just broken by them! They're missing episodes 13 to 48 and every other site wants to shove either 51 or 31 ads down my throat and hardly load the videos anyway!

I am good at computer
