How Many Servers Is This Linus Tech Tips Forum Being Run On? - Just curious!

Geekazoid

Hi guys,

I won't bother repeating the question. I do apologise if this has already been answered.

I'm curious about this because sometimes this forum can feel a bit sluggish and at other times quite fast. So I wanted to ask just out of curiosity. Not to complain at all. Maybe @LinusTech could answer this one.

Thanks in advance! :)

Its on a cloudflare CDN aswell, so it is cached which does take alot of the load off of the actual backend servers.

So if CF gets hit with a 200Gbps attack we will feel it aswell since the site is on their reverse proxy.

PEWDIEPIE DONT CROSS THAT BRIDGE

I don't think they will tell you. Couldn't that lead to security issues?

If I were to fathom a guess: 2 physical servers.

  • One a web/hosting server running Apache
  • The other a database server, probably being powered by MySQL

New IPB update, or is it just the planned theme?

Neither, this is not the new theme that I talked about, just a small update to make the current day theme more usable.

Cool, like the look. I'm personally a day theme user. Keep up the good work!  :)

It's 2AM here and it hurts my eyes. Probably more than it would at 11PM.

It's just as dark here at 11 PM as it is at 2 AM here in Portland.
