MionixLabs - NAOS QG First Smart Mouse?

So MionixLabs is trying something new by putting interesting sensors like hart monitors into a gaming mouse. Not sure if these gimmicky sensors will really help. They are using the test body design of Naos ( which i actually have probably one of the most comfortable mouse i have ever owned )

 

here are some of the claimed features 

 

 

1. Track your stress level in real-time
2. Measure your body reactions
3. Keep track of changes and your goals
4. On-screen display while in game (customizable location)
5. Real-time acoustic/visual feedback (such as threshold warnings)
6. If your stress data is too high, take a break

Their on screen in game layover looks pretty large

 

  

Their timeline is pretty quick on this and they hope to have it shipping next year.

I can't imagine myself ever needing something like this.

If I did need that information displayed for whatever reason, I would not want such a large amount of screen real estate to be taken for it.

This is actually quite cool. Still a bit gimmicky but I feel like this is a cool idea, and the first "new" idea in gaming mice for quite some time

 

Edit: just checked the kickstarter, looks cool. The mouse seems decent, a good solid large body for a palm grip. Too bad it doesn't have enough buttons, I will not take anything that doesn't have a pink button and atleast 6 side buttons, I'm too used to my G600

If it can track the data behind the scenes and store it somewhere so you can later analyze the data and look at certain trends. It would be rather interesting to see what games, genres, etc... affect your stress levels, heart rate, and whatnot the most. If it has that capability, I would certainly be interested in something like this.

This would be cool but only for very specific purposes, for example DayZ, that game seriously has gotten my heart beating to the point where I could feel it in my ears, if you had a heartrate sensor changing your players heartrate to what yours is it would be cool, other than that kinda useless

This would be cool if you could see pulse of the player in the enemy team. Trolling would evolve in to whole new level.

OPEN APIs

Oh yah, one last thing: we kept the APIs not only open but also free for everybody to use. We invite all game developers and hackers to incorporate QG data into their games or applications.

Wouldn't it be awesome to have sweat running into your character's eyes in BF5 when the sensors detect your hand is perspiring? C’mon DICE, your turn!

 

would be pretty interesting for sure not quite sure how useful it would be though.

@Gaw: Hej, the Naos QG is built on using the same parts as the Naos 7000 - the same sensor, switches and shape. So no, we have not done a single compromise on quality or performance, sensors are purely a bonus.

Actually, I have the 7000 from them and if they're using the same body, then it works for both.

That is just like saying a razor headset is too gimmicky and wont sell (we know razor sells...). You realize Pew Die Pie and other large youtubers display their heart rate while playing horror games? I'm sure there would be a load of those kids who watch that  will spend some money on a gimmicky mouse like that.

well streamers would love to have one of those I guess !!! and I would like to see that too on streams from professional players etc ... I'm not against the product .

But that's my point. Mionix isn't known to be a "gimmick" brand. They have well built mice and this just makes them look like another Razor knock off.
