Windows 10 Insider Topic

Gachr

I liked to be able to resize the start menu :/

It still exists in Build 10114 although I think it should be done away with. To avoid the need of registry hacks or another to reset the menu back to it's default size if you ever accidentally resize the start menu. Or at least disable it by default and have an option for allowing a resizable start menu.

It'd be bit weird for a thursday or friday release though. Friday release has happened before in the past.

Patch Tuesday seems like a more reasonable release date.

New Nvidia drivers released for Windows 10.

http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/84889/en-us

By the way, the WHQL driver finally implemented DX12.

Also some leaked info on build 10120:

http://www.neowin.net/news/windows-10-build-10120-cortana-can-open-apps

Cortana can now open apps:

There is also a slew of screenshots here: http://www.neowin.net/news/hands-on-with-windows-10-build-10120

Cortana also got a nice update: http://www.neowin.net/news/microsoft-adds-a-bit-more-flair-to-cortana-gives-her-a-few-surprises

Cortana now has a "suprise me" feature which returns back puzzles, fun facts, trivia, etc.

Is  build 10120 out yet?

BTW, do we get the finale retail of win 10 pro for free?

No. The latest build is 10074 at the moment of this post.

We don't know how the process will go for Windows Insiders. For all we know, you can upgrade but won't be activated. And we need to format (either way, I recommend to do this to not have beta left over passed through the official release build for best experience), and re-install Windows 7/8.1, and then upgrade from there to Windows 10.

If my dreamspark account stays active long enough for 10 to go retail, I'll be happy.

With 10.0.10122.0 in the OSG ring and 10.0.10125.0 in the Canary ring I'm willing to bet we will see 10.0.10120.0 next which was in the OSG ring a few days ago.

I've been waiting for a stable build to install as my daily driver but haven't been impressed with any of them yet (although it's getting better).

Windows 10 Build 10125 has hit partners with some little (but long waited changes).

New icons (finally).

The explorer icon hasn't changed much it doesn't scream with color like it use to so it matches the rest of the icons.
