R9 270 Crossfire but YouTube still stutters at 4K?

staykov

Hey guys,
I have a weird discrepancy here.

I run a R9 270 Crossfire system, 8gigs ram, Quad Core Cpu

I can play battlefield maxed out at FullHd with NO problem. However when I try to play 4K videos in YouTube they stutter.

Any idea how to fix?

I have a good connection btw low-ping - 100Mbp/s

Could you tell us what CPU instead of saying 4 core? <_<

Emmh... Maybe consider killing yourself before you talk to me?

Pople on this forum though some of them had a brain, turns out, no.

Mb/s*

What CPU (telling number of cores is useless...) and What browser?

accually, your right and wrong, Mb/s is megabytes, mbps is megabits, there are 8 bits in a byte

Honestly, no one knows?

You've not provided enough information so it's pretty odd for you to expect somebody to provide a solution to your problem.

A good start would be to tell us what debugging you have done and what results you obtained.

Posting relevant information to your set-up will be handy too even if it doesn't seem 100% relevant (sometimes odd issues occur and providing more information is a lot better than providing less).

Is it stopping to buffer constantly or is the video loaded and it's stuttering while playing?

sorry, but you're wrong.

Mb/s (or Mbps) is megabits per second.

MB/s (or MBps) is megabytes per second.

it's the B that is case sensitive, not the M

The 8 bits in a byte is still right though

nvm, decobra got it

What @AlwaysFSX stated. Plus, open up GPU-Z and see whether or not you are VRAM limited. The R9-270X has 2GB of VRAM....not 100% sure it will be enough for even 4K YouTube.

Just so you know, when you Crossfire (or SLI) the VRAM on you graphics cards DO NOT stack. 2GB R9-270X + 2GB R9-270X =/= 4GB.

Actually, a 4K video on a 1080p display would look better than a standard 1080p video.

This is how it looks when I play uncompressed 4k in youtube. As you can see the clip is fully buffered.

Go through your drivers control panel and remove ALL video enhancement crap.

Give that a shot. No doubt a glitch when processing is being done by your GPU to make content look nicer.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Regardless, check the GPU usage and temperature with GPU-Z.

Are you connecting the GPU to the Monitor via Display Port or HDMI?

I went to to AMD CCC - Disabled all enhancements under Video/Quality. No improvement after reboot. Tried disabling CrossFire as well. No improvement.

Regardless, check the GPU usage and temperature with GPU-Z.

This is while playing THIS at 4K. GPU load kept jumping between 0% and 100% depending on whether it's stuttering or playing.

Your CPU is too slow for 4k, simply put. I can almost guarantee it without even knowing what CPU..

And/or you need to switch to html5 encoding on youtube, normal flash is worse on the hardware. https://www.youtube.com/html5 enable it (only works on chrome/chromium-based browsers atm, and maybe Opera)

Re-install/repair your codecs package to view movies with...?

Maybe a codec issue, even tho youtube probably doesnt use them.... and uses AMD/Nvidia decoders on the GPU.

Who knows..

Altho wouldn't hurt to check that HTML5 player to see if it still happens.

I'd remove some drivers and re-install them, motherboard chipset and gpu.,... not that it isnt powerful enough like you said, thats the point, maybe bad drivers causing problems.

Bit of a weird issue innit.
