Save which children? Fictional children do not need any protection since you know, they are not real.

This is exactly the same as arguing that the bots in Battlefield 4 need to be protected from harm, and that FPS games should be illegal. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Fictional characters should not be treated like real life people. It's absolutely absurd.

The Children! You know the Children? I said it kind of sarcastically, since with any kind outcry someone usually says, "think about the children!" or thereabouts. While I do agree no actual children are being harmed or anything else, I think it's a little bit weird myself to have people draw young girls or boys alike having sex instead.. While there hasn't been any conclusive studies on people actually acting on fantasies they have from such material, I personally think that it could have an effect on the human psyche as human's act on stupid impulses all the time. I know it does sound kind of stupid, but I think that drawn and animated mediums should abide by age regulations as well.

 

Edit: Keep in mind this is coming from someone who has read/watched their fair share of related content and played plenty of terrible Visual Novels that just turn into fap games..

It's like people who act like savage dogs over Bieber when they don't listen to his music or visit fan sites. The types who actively go out of there way to seek content they hate just to make a huge fuss over it are idiots. This content isn't being sold at the check-out counter at your local shop for all to see. It's fine not to approve of the content and normal to condemn it. But facts are facts. This isn't stuff that is just there, it's something you actively have to seek out. You don't just accidently see lewd anime/manga style drawings of underaged characters out in the open where you live, do you? I think not.

 

If this was content easily accessible by children, THEN you have a problem. No reputable shop will ever sell such things to minors, period. As for online material, that's the parents responsibility to monitor what their kids are up to, not anyone elses. More children, REAL children, are being abused as this thread is having more comments added to it and we have people who still care about drawings instead of actual victims. That's just weak.

But Beiber is literally a plague for young women. It's mainly the parent's fault for not teaching their kids what life is, but Beiber still makes money off of their ignorance, so it's not okay.

Generalizations are bad. One can look at what is written in your location and make off comments about incestious relationships with cousins or doing lewd things to livestock. And this is coming from someone who is also from the south. One could make the same comment of not getting why adults like to watch cars drive in an oval for 500 laps. People have differing interests, it's the sole purpose of being alive. I find adults telling little children they will burn for all eternity in fire if they don't follow a book with many plotholes creepy, but that's their business.

What I said was not a generalization, though. Everyone with context about anime knows that not every single anime creation depicts oversexualized 14 year old girls, as well as what you said.

 

So someone who doesn't know everything about anime could easily draw the conclusion of what's on the front page of deviantart.com.

Like, I'm not insulting anime or people who love anime at all, just saying the conclusions people draw do have some merit.

Automatically labelling me as someone who seeks things to complain about.... thanks. Regarding one of your other comments, "I find adults telling little children they will burn for all eternity in fire if they don't follow a book with many plotholes creepy, but that's their business.". I completely agree, however "that's their business" is like saying, rapists can commit their crime, but that's their business, therefore I will not intervene or stand up to it. Child porn on the internet, I'm sure you will agree, is sick. I do not need a better understanding of anime to know what kind of horrible, child depicting comics are terrifyingly common within some sites and stores. I do think that CNN were way to generalist about labelling anime as "child porn", however, there is no way you can possibly be FOR certain "child porn" depicting comics and images, surely?
