Posted July 29, 2014 Memory isn't technically limited by the CPU, but by the chip-set (if I remember correctly). ASUS could have tweaked the microcode to allow for more than 64Gb of memory to be correctly addressed. ▶ Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Posted July 29, 2014 Whole steam library? do you have like 10 games or something That was a bit of an exaggeration I suppose. But still, you could load a fair few games to the RAM if you wanted to. Posted July 29, 2014 memory controllers are in CPUs so yes cpus does have memory limitations! as you said: "LOL" I believe that in this particular case, a microcode update could have been pushed by ASUS, which explains why the update was delivered via a beta bios update. Although this wouldn't be officially supported by Intel. In the past, ASUS has been known to tweak chipset firmware and microcode via bios updates. ▶ Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. Posted July 29, 2014 Although this wouldn't be officially supported by Intel. ASUS has been working closly with Intel and IM to make this happen. I would assume that means Intel officially supports ASUS in this.
