I'm still so jealous of you picking that up. Really makes me want to get after the caps on my P3TDDE to make it more like new. Maybe see if I can find either a bigger or an actively cooled heatsink for the northbridge too since it gets a lil toasty.

Went back on my first idea, got a Titan xp

up next will be the Titan v, then Titan black and Titan x, then a Titan Z and lastly a Titan rtx

hopefully by that point the titan rtx will be a little bit cheaper

I just didn’t feel like draining $500 out of the disposable income pile this month, I got other stuff I wanna buy, so the Titan v will be later

if I get a Titan v I will also likely be using it as my main gpu anyway

Titan Z's are oddly difficult to find on eBay - pre-GPU shortage there were maybe 15 or so every week. They were $300-500 but at least available. Now all you can find is a full PC and a waterblocked one

I bought a HyperX SoloCast microphone. After multiple trials and tribulations with other setups, this is hopefully going to be suitable for gabbing with friends when I play online. I like the fact that unlike many entry-level microphones, this has both a 5/8 boom-arm thread, but also uses a USB-C connection rather than a Mini-B or full B. A previous microphone's cover fit, so even though this has to be about 6in/15cm from my mouth to really shine, that was a lucky break.

Got a slim bluray drive for my pc, hoping to replace my 5.25" bluray with a slim odd and 3.5" card reader. It's used, but it was a very good price compared to what other sellers were asking for similar drives. I mean, as long as it works, i'm fine with it.

Two CDs arrived today, Bliss in the midst of uncertain tides by Gojii, and Microsoft’s office 97 + sr-2 patch (my favorite Microsoft album)

IMG_7306.thumb.jpeg.58d31c2bfab9f1e5987b4adf035835ee.jpeg

IMG_7307.thumb.jpeg.aa09ee3fca624c146007fd8eacd1d22e.jpeg

I put office 97 in a new dual cd case, as it was sent to me as office 97 and the separate unmarked case for sr-2

so the cd key has been written to a post-it and shoved in there with the discs and the original print from Microsoft detailing the request for the patch disk, but that has someone’s name and address on it so that is not visible

More stuff arrived

head unit for the wagon

IMG_7308.thumb.jpeg.b359d556365c65ab821795afa878bfeb.jpeg

went through crutchfield as they have a service where they just make a harness for you, which is 99% of the difficulty of doing a head unit swap

IMG_7310.thumb.jpeg.057b6596bba1e8a804449fe9388503fd.jpeg

it has a removable faceplate as if it was still 1994 and these things were commonly stolen

cd, Bluetooth, usb, 3.5mm in, fm/am of course and a few satellite radio services

the limitation with installation of this was the lack of room for cable shoving, the harness is pretty damn big as the original radio has two large brick connectors on it, but it got in there

neither of the included dash trim pieces fit it well so I just used the one that came with the radio, it’s good enough

and the 6x9”s for the wagon

IMG_7315.thumb.jpeg.97d3b7358642319890b786c4a105ce0f.jpeg

which should be a pretty quick and painless install as they come with blade connectors like the factory speakers

Little Lenovo Mini PC i paid 25 quid for on ebay.  It didn't say what CPU it had other than it was 2.9GHz  Which says to me it's a i5-3470T rather than the 2.6GHz i3-2120T.  It's got 4GB of RAM a 500GB SSD (apparently, though i suspect it'll be a spinner at that capacity) and Windows 10 Pro.  As long as at least one USB works and it runs Munt.  It'll do it's intended job.  It's just gonna be cheaper and neater than trying to get one of my iTX systems up and running.  this can sit on top of Frog and 'be' a Roland MT-32 all day and for less than 50 quid too 😄.  Might even look in to adding the display to the front of it for maximum giggles.

Wanted a new, and powerful tablet that can handle games, but it MUST be around 8" or so, but I didn't want to pay too much. So, I went with a Lenovo Legion Y2022 128/8GB model, comes with a SD 870 CPU, so it's pretty responsive, much more responsive compared to my basic Lenovo Tab M9.

spacer.png

Bought a case to go with it, went with a case with a magnetic detachable cover, which I found to be unusual, so I went with it...

Bought a new tiny soundbar that is USB powered, sound quality isn't great, but good enough for YT which I've been watching a lot of. I didn't want to power up my Philips soundbar just for YT, besides, I'm saving some electricity going with this USB power speaker. Also bought a case for my Flip5, I'll admit, I love transparent cases. Also got a couple of USB cables that are RGB, which automatically make them more efficient and charge faster, and a 512GB mSD card for the Legion Y700. Dunno IF I'd mentioned this before, but had gotten my friend's Note20 Ultra (swapped with my Flip3 with some cash on his part).

Well I did a thing. Ended up throwing a preorder down on a natural titanium 15 Pro Max to replace my 13 Pro Max even though I've only had it for about a year and a half. Originally placed a pre-order for a blue one that would have arrived almost a month sooner, however I was worried about how the blue would wear and wanted to try something different since having a white Pixel 7 as a secondary started to scratch that itch. Really hoping it shows up before then though, my impatience is going to kill me lol

I do have reasoning though: The right half of my screen has always had a noticeable red tint (primarily at lower brightnesses), I've been noticing that my Lightning port is getting fucky for audio, and finally I have a dust ingress issue with my telephoto camera. Also I never get AppleCare on any of my shit so there's no chance of not paying half of my phone's trade in value to try getting these issues fixed.

I'm hoping around the time it ships I can also get a cellular Series 9, however hopefully I'll be getting paid better by then because that's a lotta money to drop in a short period of time lol

Yeah I was looking at the different models. I just can't see myself spending over $1000 for a phone. Even if I plan to use it for 4 or 5 years. Im probably going to stick it out with my XR until next year and maybe pick up the normal 15 on a discount. Plus I want to do some PC upgrades this year if I can.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

I'm looking forward to the new camera system more than anything honestly. The main sensor on the 13PM has always been overhyped IMO and I'm very interested how the new main will do me. I am torn on the 5x telephoto though, for a lot of things I feel like 3x was just about perfect so I fear that going to 5x will actually cause me to lose shots (it was just about PERFECT for beach photos, as an example I've included one below from where my friend and I normally sit when we go).
