The first video I saw was his Noctua NH-D 14 unboxing/review when he was still at NCIX (I think). I was just looking up that cooler and found his video by chance.

Back in the summer of 2012 (possibly 2011) I wanted to build my first system, so I hit youtube, found a Carey Holzman vid that was a little too in depth for my then noobish brain to handle, so I continued my search, eventually stumbling upon a build tutorial that Linus did for the NCIXcom channel (or was it his own, I cannot remember now) and the rest, as they say, is history.

I had a €400 budget for a gaming PC (I just discovered that day that you could build PCs) and I was searching when I found one of his videos on NCIX where he was showing off a build with a lot of high end stuff (and I was wondering if it costed €400).

I was looking for some sort of review before buying something (I was being lazy) and I came across linus and Found him interesting so I watched a few videos to pass the time and I eventually subbed. Now I just watch the WAN show and some occasional LTT videos (Linus convinced me into buying my 21:9 monitor that I was having doubts about just last week) and channelsuperfun. I'm mostly on the forum because of the community. So yeah, I guess it was some sort of review since prices in South Africa are steep.

When I had to decide which parts to get for my PC. I liked the idea of having a tech related forum but I don't really like the direction it has taken.

I don't really play many games for gameplay anymore honestly. I play most games just for the graphics.

That eyefinity one up there is the first I saw of him.

Don't watch much now though, at least until highlander videos come out. :)

First spring 2012 when looking for new case and watched several unboxing and review videos. But Subscriber part came summer/fall of same year when I had ended my magazine subscription and needed another source for news and reviews. Liveshow came few months later, on forum I've been from first week, maybe day 3 or 4.

How do you manage to link the video's into the post other than simply the URL link?

I was researching monitors at the time for what was a new build and one NCIX video came up with him in it and he sounded very knowledgeable and i though this guy will help me from buying products that aren't so good and thus save money and subbed to the NCIX channel.

His ventures lead him to here and i followed. I really like his format and most of his way of reviewing a product and the range of products he reviews. He has one problem IMO, his video audio is like youtube, in one video it can be loud and then his voice can sound like the giant bird at the end of the movie Lady in the Water and in another it is soft and you can't hear him well..

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.
