Did you figure out what's been causing the low GPU utilization, or are things just sort of shaking out on their own?

not too sure about the utilization yet, i'm still running into very low percentages.

maybe i should try setting the advanced flag?

3-3.5 MPPD from a laptop?! 🤯

I get that from a 1660S and 6700XT... combined!

I could not tell you how, it is all black magic to me. Somehow it has figured out how to do that at 80W instead of the full 100W...

I always stop FAH, then modify config.xml, then start it again. Always works if you do it that way.

not work.

I'm kinda baffled why they haven't updated the RPM version for systemd either given it says its for Red Hat / Centos / Fedora, all of which moved over years ago.  The init script wont close the client on there either.

I'm aware there are instructions to adapt it yourself but I never seem to get round to it, I just "killall FAHClient" like a crazy person.  But its not like you ever need to shut it down once its configured correctly.

I neglected to take a picture, because I had other concerns, but I do have a brief story time to share now.

My server was mysteriously completely turned off this morning. I took the side panel off, and I found that some of the motherboard screws had completely fallen out. I assume one of them caused a temporary short, and prompted the shutdown. Thankfully, nothing seems to have been actually harmed, I reinstalled them, tightened up all the remaining ones because they were also loose, and it booted right back up just fine.

It took me a little while to piece together what could have caused it, given that I haven't changed much about the hardware itself in quite some time, but I'm pretty sure I've got it after a little testing: I ran laundry overnight.

I live in a reasonably small apartment, with in-unit laundry. I don't have a lot of places to put the server, so it's currently against the wall of the closet that the washer and dryer are in. I tried putting a ball on top of the server, and when running the washer, the vibrations carried through the floor enough to immediately roll the ball right off the top, even though they aren't particularly strong at the base. It was specifically the top three motherboard screws that fell out completely. I think the vibrations have been slowly shaking all the screws in the machine loose over the course of the last year.

Running my laundry overnight nearly shook my server to death. Needless to say, I'll be moving it now. And tightening every screw in the machine.

@GOTSpectrum is strangely happy this happened I bet he had something to do with this...

Ugh, so many extra steps. We were looking at 0, 1, and 3's yeah? 0 means no bonus, 1 means bonus, and 3 is my active instances? (count is right) Can we discern from that information if all three clients are now getting the bonus because something did change we just want to verify all ends took the change.

I don't want to start fiddling around with the running service and the config file if it all ends up being unnecessary.

The latest update to the Version 8 Beta of the web client has been published.

It now has built in support for connecting to remote system configured to allow it.   But this only works with F@H Version 8 Beta.

Full details on this comment here, but I do have it remoting to machines on my test network, while applying the IP/Port in the URL so you can have multiple / bookmark systems if wanted.

If all recent WUs are getting the bonus we can assume all is well, assuming all clients are actually showing up in the recent WU completed list.

If your passkey is wrong I'm not sure if they show up on there?

I'm actually more confused though cause that means bonuses were going...somewhere but I didn't fix the passkey until Nov 4th. How do I verify if I'm actually getting the bonus cause I definitely wasn't before the 4th.

It looks like both of my Linux instances should be getting the bonus. Still waiting to see a bonus on the Windows VM.

How do I verify if I'm actually getting the bonus cause I definitely wasn't before the 4th.

You can put your username and passkey in here to find out if it is getting the bonus and other stats.  https://apps.foldingathome.org/bonus

Edit:

Oh wait, this just means the passkey is working. So at least one of three clients are using it...how helpful.

I seem to have leveled out at 5M PPD and my system should push me over the 100 mil mark during Folding month, and almost halfway to 500 mil. Gonn have to pause afte the month and evaluate the $$ but if its not crippiling (i can live with $200 a month) ill get a folding rig rolling 24/7
