Maxthon master race. Compatible with both FF and Chrome plug-ins, comes prepackaged with Adblock plus, downloads videos from Flash and HTML5 containers natively, and has no connection to filthy Google. Then I use Firefox secure browsing exclusively for Google services.

Yeah some how I don't think installing chrome would be ideal.

I'm blocking every google thing possible without breaking this site.

BTW @helping is that still season 6. I've watched up to episode 6-11b (so technically 22). I should probably get around to 'acquiring' the rest of the episodes.

Well, not much to watch from the new season today, and Rakudai was no consolation.

Chivalry of a Failed Knight (7). bad.

Man oh man did this show ever miss its calling to be a parody. In fact, it's just a hair's breadth away from being so bad it's good. I keep seeing signs of unintentional parody and comedy that are just barely enough to keep me from dropping it despite promising to finish it. The episode started off on a relatively strong note by having MC man's opponent use a crafty tactic, but since they told story elements out of order I had no idea what the heck anyone's real motivation was until it was too late to care. MC man just completely forgot they're superhumans and fell for an obvious trap, and his opponent's "must be evil" act came across as something the plot demanded for no real reason. Worse, the episode was a thematic trainwreck. This is what happens when bad writers shovel themes like honor and pride into their story when all they really want to focus on is the power of friendship. As usual, nobody was allowed to point out MC's inherent hypocrisy (he even shushed his sister at one point). After all that talk of honor and such, he didn't take the chance to request a few hours of rest so he could fight his opponent fairly and honorably, but instead he effectively took advantage of her obvious emotional compromise to win by playing mind games on her. What a noble character! I was hoping the fight itself would at least have a few more scenes of actual animation, but because the superpowers didn't require any, we only got a few shots of them darting at one another with their swords (and one of them was one of those always-disappointing "flail your swords at each other like whips" scene).

Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut (1). mediocre.

Sometimes you can just tell if something isn't for you within the first few minutes. Take this anime. Three minutes in, the protagonist kid falls through a roof into a bathhouse full of girls, and lands on a Shana clone. Nope. Skimming ahead, he's of course in some sort of highschool full of girls. Bah. Not interested.

Mahou Shoujo Nante Mou Ii Desukara (1). mediocre.

Four minutes of magical girl stuff with lots of moe and fanservice that's being passed off as comedy. Are cute pouts and other bits of smoothly animated tame fanservice enough for you to watch a show? Well then, have fun. It's not my kinda thing.

Four Rhythm Across the Blue (1). mediocre.

Yawn. Have you read the premise synopsis for this one online? Good, because you won't get much else from actually watching this, so you can skip it if it sounds unappealing. It's a standard cutesy moe slice of life highschool show, of the "bland and inoffensive" variety. It also tosses in a male presence so they can have a light fanservice scene or two, but that too fails to add any real flavor to the show. You'd think it would at least make its fantasy sport interesting, but while it's not unwatchable, it's quite dull. But then I don't expect much from a premise where girls fly around in short skirts for no reason. I'm honestly not sure who I could recommend this to, except perhaps fans of breezy slice of life shows who don't mind watching archetypical anime characters instead of more realistic ones.

And this is why windows is not allowed to install or download updates on my computer.

It sounds like it'll just be a matter of time before they bypass whatever you've "allowed" and just go ahead and do it anyway.

Meanwhile, still waiting for the adapter to mount my new HDD to arrive (postal is being slow, as usual), after of which dropping Windows for Linux. And because of this, I have not bothered to update the temporary Windows 8 (not 8.1) install... ever.

 

Yes, that's about 1,4GB of updates pending, and never updated. Also not running any anti-virus software...

I wonder if that OS would run on early 2000's laptop that struggled to run even Windows XP... Damn Small Linux and Lubuntu refuse to install on it. lol

Quite appropriately I saw these posts of yours about these comics, just a few minutes after I was searching for jobs in the local area... A coincidence?
