Hey guys! I'm new here! Does that make me a LinusTechTips Forums NOOB? xD

 

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Benn, I'm 16 years old and come from the wet and rather boring land of Scotland. I have a passion for computing, video games and anime. I love to come up with cool ideas and concepts which I have scattered on sheets of paper all around my room, though none of them have ever made it past the planning stage. I've watched LinusTechTips and Techquickie for quite a while now and every week love watching the WAN Show though I usually have to watch it on Saturday Mornings due to the time difference. (I might try and stay up to watch live this week though)

 

I've been using the computer since the age of 5 or 6 which was around the time we got our first PC at home, it was a HP running windows XP. It was basic but hey, it served it's purpose. Unfortunately it died a few years ago and even though I repaired it a year ago (Yet the guys at our local repair shop failed to do so twice) it recently got sent to the PC graveyard. Then I got a laptop that ran Windows Vista. Yes, the dreaded Vista... I was glad to have a computer again and would be on it constantly during my pre-teen years but in hindsight I now realise how bad my experience with that piece of junk was. I would be happy to send it to the PC graveyard but it's still downstairs as a backup machine. (In case of the apocalypse or something...) Three years ago I got a laptop that ran Windows 7 and that was my main machine for quite sometime. Used it for some light video editing and playing some MineCraft but it wasn't really built for gaming at all so inevitably I had to get something with a bit more horsepower which leads me into my current PC. My Desktop which I've had for going on a year and half which was custom built by a shop down in England. It has an i7 Ivy Bridge processor, 16GB of Ram, an Asus Motherboard and an AMD Radeon 7870. As much as I love it for it's power it has some problems the main thing being that it is very, very noisy. I plan on replacing\upgrading it at the end of this year or the start of next year depending on my funds.

 

The games I tend to play on my PC are usually sandbox, simulation or open world games. I like the freedom that they offer. So obviously I play things like MineCraft and Gary's Mod, etc. Being a bit of a politics nerd I play Democracy 3 a lot, I get a really good approval rating in that game. I'm really interested in Virtual Reality and I am looking forward to the consumer version of Oculus Rift (as long as Facebook doesn't ruin it) as well as the Virtuix Omni. In terms of console gaming, I don't have any interest in the Xbox One or PS4. Both are interesting systems but the games that run on them are very similar to what I can get on my PC. The WiiU on the other hand interests me and I hope to purchase one soon, I'm very excited for MarioKart 8, personal childhood favourite of mine. I also own a 3DS XL which is the handheld of choice for me as I don't really get the reason for the PS Vita's existence. It just seems a little out of place for me.

Welcome to the forum! Garry's Mod is a great game to fool around and play on many servers and game modes. :D If you have Just Cause 2, you should check out Just Cause 2 Multiplayer DLC. Below in my signature are useful links like the CoC and FAQ. I hope you'll enjoy the forum. :)
