Can you please test mice to find one that fits large hands well. I can reach caps lock and enter with one hand and my Corsair Ironclaw still leaves a 1/3 of my hand touching the desk mat. Help us please!

Inspired by your potato build:

How cheaply could you hand-build a minisforum PC like the one you crammed into a potato, if you didn't need to make it into such a tiny package?

There's a few really useful points a video like this could make:

  • Are PCs so powerful now that totally adequate PC, even for some basic gaming, can be made on a ridiculously low budget?
  • Are commodity products like this so cheap now that it isn't worth trying to handbuild something like this?
  • The answer, without doing this experiment, isn't clear to me.  Not having to make it small, you can make it much cheaper?  Or there are economies of scale minisforum can exploit that aren't available to hand-builders and we can't match their price?
  • Videos on minimum price at a performance point are sometimes more useful than maximum performance at a price point.

For bonus points, do two builds:

  • all new parts
  • as used as you can manage

I remember way back when Linus used to complain about multiple remotes, and the videos about the Logitech Magic Remote, and then them discontinuing it. I'd love you guys to take a look at the Remote Two by Unfolded Circle. It's a programmable universal remote with Home Assistant and lots of other integrations for IoT products. It's also designed to be set up and maintained entirely locally, with no cloud dependency, so even if the company tanks, your remote will continue to function.

Figure we could get a decent video with Linus and Jake setting it up to control Linus' house.

Mostly, I just want a decent review. I've seen a few videos when I searched for it, but it doesn't seem to have hit any of the even semi-popular channels, so I can't attest to the trustworthiness of any of the review videos.

Hi,

So I’m a mechanical engineering student, and work in the industry.

Can you make a video about the fact that as Mechanical/ Aerospace/etc. Student you can’t really use a Mac for you're studying, as you can’t really use a decent CAD software, we use SolidWorks, but do have CATIA on campus.

not to mention any FEA like ANSYS or Abaqus

As someone who used several CATIA licenses, this is an overkill beast, best suited for the industry, much like Abacus.

Which is shame, because a lot of us really heavily on iPads with Notability.

which, Unfortunately, doesn’t play nice with windows.

what’s more, I found the MS office a bit lacking on the Mac, granted it was a few years ago.

LTT Viewer part repair. I'm guessing this leans a bit closer to No than Yes just because of worrying about things being damaged in shipping and whatnot.

But this thought came to me because my 3090 has some bad V-Ram (I bought it for 600 dollars on Newegg. It was a steal), and I've had the idea of sending it to LTT for a video where viewers would send in parts that are damaged and Linus and the team sees if they can't get them working like new again. I, personally, would be fine footing the bill for shipment and parts. I'm not sure how you would handle it if this idea were accepted.

But I'd really like to see them replace the bad V-Ram packages from my GPU and put new ones on, perhaps even putting a little bit of PTM7950 on it. Wink wink, nudge, nudge Segway to LTTStore.com.

And if that's just no good. Where may one (and again, I'll make another submission for the proper room) be able to get perhaps their V-Ram fixed by a reputable repair shop? I don't think there'd really be any places that'd do it over here, and I bought it from New Egg, so I don't think a warranty really transferred.

I've been looking around for a multi-cam (10 cameras in my case) setup for streaming via obs. But a lot of what i find is crazy expensive from ATEM switches to Mevo logitech cameras all of which are too large an investment to try an idea for streaming. I realize a 10 camera setup cannot be that cheap, but $399 for the recommended logitech mevo camera is a bit much, I'm sure there's cheaper options for a basic 1080p setup.

I'd love to see a video showing low / mid / high tier setups that way everyone get's something out of it. Along with setup explanations for us noobs still looking to learn about this madness.

And, in line with the 1 CPU a gazzilion players, perhaps 1 stream a gazzilion cameras might be up LTT's alley, is there a limit?

However, if there's already some info out there for cheap starter setup - please link, and thank you in advance.

I am using Redragon stuff for a while, and I am not disappointed. Since there are a lot of brand builds, I would like to see a full Redragon build. They have sick accessories from what i have seen on their website. From SSDs to PSUs, monitors, mice, keyboard the whole deal. I think Linus even reviewed their Kumara keyboard (most popular one) before, and was not disappointed. Most of the items they offer are only being shipped to the US, kinda sad given that I would love to see a whole setup for my own.
Thanks for your time :)

I'd love to see you guys cover e-ink smartphones at some point. The ones I found were here but there are other brands out there. https://hisenseeink.com/

Better yet make Linus daily drive one.

Would love to see a video doing a more in depth analysis on Dust Clean-up/Maintenance. I know Linus has talked about a specific orientation for fans going into a radiator. Having a more controlled experiment with the labs team, running bench marks on dirty/cleaned up computers, testing out various cases/filters/setups/placements, maybe having a "10 minute cleanup window" and evaluating what is easiest to clean and if there is any variance in performance from cleaning.

Edit: and yes, I know of the 3 different air configurations video. Looking for something more controlled with more data.

water_cooling.pdfwater_cooling.pdfwater_cooling.pdfwater_cooling.pdfI have a new different cooling system. I attached the 3D model.
One is air cool and the other is water cool.
The internal disk needs to spin and the inside is full of water for heat conductivity.
The water model needs to have heat sink at the bottom like the air model. It needs to be optimized at the heatsink and part thickness.
If you have any questions feel free to send them.
If you choose to build it I'll be happy for recognition.

Saw this pretty unique case in a tiktok video that is sold flat pack like IKEA furniture then constructed into place. Rather than just a review/rip off the other creators work though, thinking you could have a build competition to see if LTT engineers could come up with better designs..

Then again, maybe this has already kinda been done with cardboard case PC?

I'd like a "Bottleneck Calculators are $H!T" video

I might be experienced, but I'm human and I do make mistakes. Expand for common PC building advice, a short bio and a list of my components and other tech. I edit my messages after sending them alot, please refresh before posting your reply. Please try to be clear and specific, you'll get a better answer. Please remember to mark solutions once you have the information you need.

Common build advice: 1) Buy the cheapest (well reviewed) motherboard that has the features you need. Paying more typically only gets you features you won’t use. 2) only get as much RAM as you need, getting more won’t (typically) make your PC faster. 3) While I recommend getting an NVMe drive, you don’t need to splurge for an expensive drive with DRam cache, DRamless drives are fine for gamers. 4) paying for looks is fine, just don’t break the bank. 5) Tower coolers are usually good enough, unless you go top tier Intel or plan on OCing. 6) OCing is a dead meme, you probably shouldn’t bother. 7) "Bottlenecks" rarely matter and "Future-proofing" is a myth. 8) AIOs don't noticably improve performance past 240mm.

I'm a PhD student working in the fields of reinforcement learning and traffic control. PCs are one of my hobbies and I've built many PCs and performed upgrades on a few laptops (for myself, friends and family). My personal computers include 3 windows (10/11) machines and a TrueNAS server (and I'm looking to move to dual booting Linux Mint on my main machine in future). While I believe I have an decent amount of experience in spec’ing, building and troubleshooting computers, keep in mind I'm not an expert or a professional and I make mistakes.

I have a computer I built almost ten years ago using a 4790k that is starting to show its age. Brand new I was able to overclock it to around 4.8gh but my AIO pump died so I had to reset to factory setting and swapped in an air cooler. The video idea could be to compare the overclocking capabilities of the legendary 4790k to more modern day CPUs and how well a 10 year old CPU still performs to this day.  Or even more interestingly try to subzero cool it and overclock to keep up with modern day CPUs. 👍

Bykski and Barrow water-cooling components

I would like a review on these and some are only sold on AliExpress. I have a Barrow 360mm radiator/pump I could send in for this. Bykski has a us website but I'm still not sure about their quality or if their products work but many of their items seem unique or different. I also got a Bykski water block for my 6900XT and put that on before but can't find any information on these two brands. The fans come with a proprietary 6-pin connection that I don't know works.

This is something I'm thinking of doing myself if I can get the components (usually come in way too big reels). What if instead of throwing away the an old monitor because the backlight led have become yellow you replace the LEDs. I might hear you saying but that's old news, I watched one of your videos (podcast) on how LEDs are evolving rapidly, what if instead of just replacing the old LEDs with equivalents, you replace them with a 95 99 or even 100 CRI LEDs possibly increasing the color gamut (or possibly push it up from sRGB to something like Adobe RGB?), could it breathe new life into old panels (or add sparkle to cheaper ones) or would the LCD layer struggle to keep up (dual layer or even a cheap HDR if it supports "full dynamic range" and has a good enough color depth may work awesome if possible). Just be careful not to go into ultraviolet or it may damage your eyes if overdone (I'm guessing) and maybe calibrate for best results. Could be a nice interactive episode I think. Best of luck!

(not sure if these could work but just wanted to show an example)

Ps. I was thinking of maybe doing it to this monitor of mine once it gets old enough to justify it (or if I get curious enough): LGE27UL500 (it allows for a simulated color depth of 10 bpc with the right DisplayPort)

A video showing what it takes to de-cloud and de-"you are the product" your life. Show what it takes to replace things that are free because of ads (like gmail), and use the cloud. Kind of an ultimate data privacy / what protecting your own data costs you.
