oho

Apparently Ledger just released an at-home version of a previously unreleased song. Haven't listened yet, but I will probably do that later today.

Halloween's Pumpkins United concert at Wacken.  @Volbet btw you were right about the Kanye West thing.  I mostly go to non overly commercial acts, and didn't know Bohemian Rhapsody is just used by him, Green Day, and others to fire up fans before a show.  Was watching a vocal coach explaining that to his viewers who called it cringe, and while it is still possible that he's tone deaf, he probably knows he can't sing Mercury's material.

Honestly, I had no idea what you were talking about. Took me a while to remember this conversation.

Although, if I remember correctly my point was a lot more in the vein of deconstructive aesthetics, which, in hindsigt, might be giving too much credit to Kanye West. I had absolutly no idea Bohemian Rhapsody was used as a hype song.

Kudos for admitting to being wrong, but I think we were both equally wrong on this one.

Anyway, here’s a throwback to the time when Maroon 5 actually sounds good

Couldn't agree more, as their Songs About Jane album was full of original jazz-inspired rock tracks with meaningful lyrics. I don't even call them Maroon 5 anymore - they're "Adam Levine & Friends" for me now, and their music sounds like a robot produces it now.

Like Kodaline (another similar sounding Irish band) these guys have lyrics that make you feel something when you need it most. Brings back many memories & lessons from a younger version of myself many years ago.

It's been a while since I heard this song from Staind, but I remember it like it was released last month. These guys didn't get a lot of radio play in our area, but were very well known among listeners of Nu Metal during the late 90's and early 2000's.

Ah yes; this Cher song is still the ONLY ACCEPTABLE use of AutoTune to this day.

Wow. This was a really well-done cover, considering the whole time-sync issues they could have if trying to record live together. (Course they can always record separately, then mix in post.) Anywho, I know of Jen from Skillet, but From Ashes to New are new to me, so thanks for the share!

While I'm not super into this kind of music on a regular basis, I can't help but feel I've heard Ian before, even though his album only came out in 2019. Either way, this was a nice calming track, and another addition for my music library.

With Covid keeping everyone at home, including musicians, I'm re-listening to a DJ mix by Two Friends that I previously watched live. These guys rocked the house, er, pool with their multi-genre slightly troll style setlist.

Ian Noe does wear his influences on his sleeve. If you've ever heard Townes van Zandt or early Bob Dylan, you're not too far from Ian Noe.

Obviously, Noe's sonic universe is a lot darker, and takes inspiration from outlaw country, but his music is certainly inspired by the aforementioned two.

I'm surprised this wouldn't be classified as Prog Metal. Good track though.
