So the most garbage of the most garbage then. It’s an award you don’t want to even be considered for.  I consider my statement that “all computer rgb is ass” to be vindicated.  It is interesting though that the “best” software is almost twice as liked as the second best.  That’s not even close.

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Blin, you haven't watched Boris before, comrade?!

Most of his videos actually have subtitles.

One of his classics likely to be relevant to the interests of LTT forum denizens:

The snapdragon 8 stuff interests me, but only as it compares to the a15 and x86/AMD64 stuff.  The impression I get from the graphs is that the a15 uses less power than the snapdragon8g2 but whether it is faster or slower seems to depend quite heavily on what benchmark is being used. Much like AMD vs Nvidia.  The snapdragon 8 is either somewhat faster or far slower, depending.  Both appear to be at more or less the computing power level of ryzen2. There may be people here who’s phone is more powerful than their desktop.  Until very recently that would have included me.  I just looked at what processor my phone has.  It’s got an a15”bionic” and isn’t even a current gen phone.  The a14 (which it does seem to comfortably beat or match) was the iPhone 12 which is even older.  The a15 is in the 14, but not the 14 pro.  The 14 pro has the a16 which wasn’t on the graph. The only information I can find says that the main useful difference is the 16 has a lot more memory bandwidth, but the 15 offers marginally more performance?! Which doesn’t make sense.  I suspect the a16 data I could find is just bad.

This one is getting odd.  My understanding is the Xbox and the PS5 have nearly the same hardware and the video system is more or less equivalent to a 1080 so he says it’s as powerful as 2 1080s in the clip.  Maybe I’m not getting this one this one….  Only watched the first couple bits so far though..  this guy does gigantic amounts of sarcasm though, so the chances I don’t get it are high.

So the bs is in the green bar graph?  He seems to be saying superesolution only works with streaming.  I don’t stream.  Does this mean they turned off super resolution for me? If this is true Nvidia cards both the 30 and 40 series are now at least partially useless to me.  If I can’t use super resolution I’d need a 40 series card to just equal an rdna2 card. Not even rdna3 at all.  I think I’m misunderstanding this.  That’s just too stupid. They’re talking $20/mo for GeForce now.  Power of 5 1080s which does sound like a full 4080.  Over twice what this 4070ti/old 4080 is supposed to do.  I’m definitely feeling the bs.  This doesn’t add up.  Gonna assume it’s me.  $20/mo is what I pay for my unlimited phone plan. I have to pay by the year and they wanted something like 300+ bucks. Android phones are often good for two years so $600++.  So basically they contract for the cost of a mid grade android phone. I’d rather have steam I think. I already have a computer.

What interesting to me is the sd8g2 mid-cores consume almost similar power to the e-cores, i hope it only happen in this particular workload and will actually use much lower power in typical android workload or else they should've just remove the e-cores and re-tune the m-cores.

If you feel confuse and mislead by Nvidia's presentation it's okay, that's their goal. 😛

1. The super resolution works with video streaming as in watching online video like Youtube.

2. The GPU in PS5 & XBOX is equivalent or slightly more powerful than 5700XT/6600XT, and 5700XT is around 2x slower than 3090/3090Ti which the upcoming 4070 Tie will slot in.

3. The 14" laptop performance graph is meaningless and misleading. 20x of what?

4. 5x PS5 is misleading as well since they only compare their single precision TFlops, it's not comparable when it come to game/graphic rendering. RTX-3090 Ti(40TFlop) is not twice as fast as RX-6950XT(20TFlop), they're on par. AMD joined the trend of SMT-like processing core with 7000 series, I'm not a fan of it.

5. The 4080 is actually only 3x of 1080 not 5x

this is completely different tech, working on a video, not a "3D scene" or game scene. Although one might be able to do some 3D for the streaming content, applying some "DLSS" upscale, reconstruction, or interpolating, or what AV1 might do to the image. which is not only streaming but any video, if supported?
Then again, haven't looked into it or how its supposed to work or the downsides to it. Nvidia could bring a data set in games and video creations that gives the best "AI work" to a set content, like a recipe in how to handle whatever is streamed or watched. For reduced errors and visual glitches, or whatever could happen. Locked into their ecosystem.

Re:OLED how much actual difference does it make to the viewer?  There is going to be a visual limit to human reaction.  I have no idea where it is though.

re:CPUs

this was expected.  I guess we’ll find out how much difference that actually makes once reviews come in.  Right now the lowest end cpu  that would be considered for future gaming is a 4600 or some other zen2 6 core.  Used to be the 5600g which had weird gpu limits.  I don’t know what it costs to create an 8th gen 6 core intel system, or whether they have fast enough single thread to make it or not.  These non x things seem potentially interesting as the whole non dead end platform thing goes.
