I wasn't but I was looking at WCG stats, your current was 300k PPD but that's WCG so....

Ahhh you're reading statistics off the WCG site. Yeah 60k/ppd would be really low. No I mean 60k BOINCstat ppd.

 

And I still don't know how they do the conversion either. It's dumb. I have >130m WCG points but it's reflected as 18.8m on BOINCstats.

 

Based on my Total Run Time statistic I'm seeing 71 days/day and that should be ever slightly higher tomorrow but I won't be running my desktop every day so I think I'm still going to be lower than 60K. Somewhere ~50K-ish. I might be able to cheat the schedule a touch to get that extra 10K

So far based on my math:

 

Average Points Per WU SCC: 309

Average Points Per WU OpenPandemics: 588

 

But each OpenPandemics WU takes long to complete. Weather that averages out to be higher or lower points in a day I'd have to do some experiments. I'm all in on OpenPandemics though so if you're competing against me I'm not running anything else. I just ticked the box:

Yea I'm running the same. Went looking at the projects results and for similar Total Run Time (~78 days) SCC was not quite double the results returned but the points are similar with OpenPandemics actually looking higher.

@leadeater I see that for the two days that ~78 years were computed. It's kind of funny, everybody dropped SCC to pick up OpenPandemics.

 

I also see both you and miker07 are gunning to pass me. Miker07 lied. He said his goal was top 20. Now I'm convinced he won't be satisfied until he's #1.

@Windows7ge  I didn't think I'd run this project this much and make this much progress, but was secretly hoping for top 10 down the road. I only put 2 cpu's on OpenPandemics to try it out, and looks like I'll have a higher ppd than SCC. My 3900x is limited to 14 threads got 90k in the morning points update (26k for boinc daily), and that is definitely higher than I was expecting. It takes a few days of crunching before WCG stats normalize. I'm limiting threads to see what a 3700x or 3800x would do, and my guess earlier is definitely quite a bit lower than reality. Now, should I add more cpu's on this project to see what I can do, or use some to keep climbing on Rosetta?

@miker07 That's really up to you. Do you want to be in the top 10 on one leaderboard or multiple leaderboards?

 

Personally I just want all my excess CPU to do something productive and I like what WCG does as a company and it's cool that they're owned/backed by IBM so I'm happy with that but if Rosetta holds something special to you you're welcome to go for that leaderboard too.

Atm I'm doing over 4000 results per day by the looks of it which at a guess is about 6m+ WCG points

Now imagine if you actually owned those servers. I know you can't keep that up forever! >:)

 

It's still too early for me to give an accurate number but atm I'm looking at around 300K/PPD and about 475WU/Day. I'll get back to you in a few days with a more stable metric. I can't run all my systems all the time so the point values are going to fluctuate depending on the day.

Congrats to all that joined in for the BOINC Pent.

 

Last year the team gained 10th overall.  This year the team work to 6th place overall, along with getting Bronze, 3rd place, in the Marathon.

 

Now, I just need to setup a sign up sheet for that prize draw.

Doesn't look like the pins connect the same way though. This was for a AS/400 to UPS for serial management. Probably would have been useless anyways.

You just need a D style pin removal tool to move the pins around.  They should have all the contacts of the RJ connector wired inside and the unused ones taped or covered in heat shrink

Eh, problem is the RS232 connector has the pins. The cable needs to be female. Seems this adapter is possibly proprietary. I have seen little screw-on adapters that allow the reversal of the pins from male to female but I don't think they'd be overly useful this late in the game.

 

Will probably just scrap the switch for parts. Fans, PSU, LEDs, etc.

Pretty sure there isn't. You can follow Ithanul if you like. Whenever he makes a thread for a new folding event going on or Pentathlon 2021 you'll get notified. GOTSpectrum possibly too.
