I just dumped around 50 Rosetta 8h tasks and 10 iber tasks. Hope it helps

I just scaled up some of my other servers. Hopefully it will help. So many Rosetta tasks have 5+ hours left

What I noticed was I Aborted tasks that were more than 2 hours over the end time and the remaining jobs all started processing faster as the CPUs were able to boost higher.

3.8GHz -> 4.3GHz

12% more power.. but only for 5 threads.

Yeah I guess it doesn't help when there is so many tasks running at once.

I believe that my last WU has been submitted . I have two threads left running, but they are at 4 hours still, so we'll see. Pleasure BOINC(ing)? with you guys. Does anyone know when there is going to be another BOINC / FAH event?

13th June, Summer Folding Sprint, this small folding event will run for one week leading up to the summer solstice! Can you take the heat!

 

2020 Folding month, TBD(expected between September and November), Our longest and flagship folding event, this is where you get folding event badges!

Unfortunately the Rosetta gods had none to spare. I have my account setup to prefer 2HR WU's, but just keep getting 8's all the live long day. I have decided I like running Rosetta though. I am going to turn my GPU back to F@H, but I think I am going to leave the CPU chilling on BOINC. Nice easy UI for controlling %.

Are you looking at remaining time?

Here they always say 8h, even if they finish in 1h40. And finish when the % meter was at 45%...

 

Both the % done and remaining time seem totally unpredictable.

The jobs run in cycles and it uses that to figure out when to end, so even if the est time is 8 hours the job will actually finish within a complete cycle of 2 hrs, before or after. You should see completion times between 1 hr 40 ish to 2 hrs 40 ish.

 

Edit:

Each cycle could be 30 mins, not sure on the specific but longer target time just means it does it more times.

I've got a stash of Rosetta WU I was hiding away that I'll release now. Unfortunately it's not going to make a material difference, but maybe it'll make P3DN's heart skip a beat.

Hello you guys from LTT, 

 

regardless of how this battle will end, I just wanted to say HELLO and that it was a pleasure to fight against LTT; hard but fair.  We really had to activate each single device we could find – including the German toasters and smart fridges  And we had to give up the sprint for that battle 

 

Would be nice to meet you next year again.

Thank you to everyone that participated in this fun event. We got from 10th to 6th! It was my 1st time using BOINC and participating in a BOINC event. It was definitely challenging trying to make sure all my servers are on the right project. It definitely did some damage on my wallet but it was for a good cause. Hopefully next year will go smoother and run more efficiently.

i plan on being more prepared lol...less systems Bigger cores i maxed out at running 15 Computers and 132 threads....im hoping to have 100 threads or more in 5 computers next year.  Cmon AMD 4000 Series...and 3000 series price Drops...13 of them where at my house lol
