I figured out the loss of communication problem but the "solution" isn't a solution. The boinc-client service keeps committing seppuku for an unknown reason. Restarting the service it just commits seppuku again. I'm only getting this behavior on Hyper-v and my desktop's QEMU/KVM instances. However none of the PROXMOX instances are experiencing this issue. If I'm going to bunker effectively I think I have no choice but to make larger disks all around. Maybe if I'm lucky that's why the service keeps killing itself. I have no time to deal with this tomorrow. Friday I should though. Right before we can actually start to bunker. f*** it I'll give all of them 128GB drives. I think my 4 cards folding is taking the cycles from the BOINC projects so I am setting it to finish and will see how we are doing after that. ATM I'm seeing 23H-27H so clearly something isn't exactly happy there. I saw ridiculous numbers for time when the system was swapping and un-responsiveness when too many cores were assigned. I found the best stability when I had at least 1GB free mem and 1 thread free for the OS on Linux. Posted April 30, 2020 I just realized because of the VPS I setup on one of my VM servers I can remote into most of the servers at home while I'm at work on my lunch break and re-setup the VMs with a lot more storage this time. Maybe I can have it done today.
