I mean every little bit helps an i have a few phones laying around unused...

 

I heard that there is an android app...will that work on my Nvidia Shield?

i doubt the processors would be fast enough or they  would have official support for it.

uffff i found it....installed it...but now I have to configure the network settings....maaaan I hate network settings and ports and stuff... I guess i give up ....before I will try hours and hours

i didnt think i would be in the top 200 let alone 180...but i do have a strong team except for that slacker with the intel processor...xps 8910 im looking at you

Does the 10 day requirement mean 10 24-hour cycles or just 1 WU complete each day for 10 days?

(*activity is defined as completing at least 1WU for the 24 hour period)

This is our highest yet but should be possible for most people seeing as most modern GPUs and CPUs can hit this. These must be met DURING the event. Points produced before the start date do not count!

Linus mentioned that LMG would be running a FAH Work Server. 

It is now up and running - have a look at https://apps.foldingathome.org/serverstats, it is linus1.foldingathome.org. They did it!!! I started folding before Linus Media Group existed. This brings tears to my eyes.

So, I gave the old GTX 960 that I added to my rig some new Kryonaut thermal paste and adjusted the fan curve, and now it's running at about 63 C, down from 75+. Of course the ambient air is cooler now too but I still think it helped a lot. However I'm not sure I even fully trust the thermal diode in this card because even shortly before I redid the thermal paste, with the fan running at 30% it was idling at about 19 C, which was pretty much exactly what the room temp was. Pretty sure it should still be at least a little warmer than the ambient air even on idle, my also idle 1080 certainly was. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

Edit: Figured I'd add that my 1080 didn't have the fan turned off due to low temps because of the fan curve I applied for folding, so that's not why it was running warmer at idle, because that would have been my first thought too.

My CPU was the same way you put load on it it went to 180-190f no lad would be room temp then again it is a CLC.  but then reapplied so cheap paste as out of the good stuff and now it maxes at full load at 150-160f and clc went from 90f to 110f max. i likely need to reapply on my Rx 580 but its temps are still reasonable for now but i do have an inverted ATX case so the heatsink is sitting on the card. and i like it as i can show off the MB etc with the case on a table on the left hand corner of my room

I HATE ABSOLUTELY HATE THE 0RPM SETTING I want them Running NO MATTER WHAT I have to chage that setting 3-4 times a month it seems as if i dont my ssds get upset as they are right next to the video card.

I used to have a CLC, they look nice, but the pump died on mine just outside of Corsair's 5 year warranty, and because I was an idiot and didn't set the software to warn me when the pump was dead, the way I found out was when I was playing Rainbow Six Siege with a friend and he was getting better FPS with a lower end graphics card, which lead me to discover that my 3770K CPU was running at 90 C/194 F and doing a bit of thermal throttling as a result. So I switched to a Noctua because I much prefer the idea of replacing cheap fans rather than the entire cooler.

 

As for the 0RPM setting, doesn't really do anything negative for me. My SSDs are mounted behind my motherboard.

Really not impressed with my case anymore... Phanteks Eclipse P400S... Always thought my machine ran warm but folding showed temps that I felt were a little too unreasonable.  When I started was seeing temps near 197 Freedom.  It has one fan in the front pulling, cpu pulling, psw pushing out and the back fan pushing out.  Took the glass off and now it stays steady at full load @  186 Freedom but avg 165.  Don't know if I should start looking for a box or a few more fans.  My office is staying at an uncomfortable 86 F.

 

Sorta excited I'm in the top 300 with my modest rig running at half throttle.

Yeah when this one turns 5 or i switch to an AM5 which ever happens first i will go with the noctua Dual tower heatsink.  i WILL NOT use my CLC out of warranty lol...and have it hooked up to a pump header and is set to shut down if the pump is less then 400 RPM

Yeah, Alas, my motherboard has 2 CPU fan headers but no pump header.

I got thinking and have to say this: i feel Linus is looking at this thread Dying inside at our cables i haven't seen any pics of people using custom cables.

that being said i wont as it cost more money and i dont care about the look that much...sorry LTT Sponsors...
