I have a question. For some reason, my GPU is not picking up any jobs. Are these GPUs too old for the jobs?

I have a Mobility Radeon HD 5730 and a desktop Radeon 5670 running.

Yes, those don't support double precision in/through OpenCL; if you study the log you will undoubtedly see being assigned a work server 192.0.2.1 for the GPUs which is in fact an unroutable address, reserved for documentation and examples, and F@h's way of telling you that the GPU is unsupported. It's not evident in the frontend that it is because in theory the queue's available for single-precision work units, but well, those don't actually tend to exist anymore in practice.

Of that generation of AMD only a few top-models in the HD 58xx, HD 59xx and HD 68xx, HD 69xx series support OpenCL DP. I do believe that anything "new" does but I couldn't really tell you where the break-off point is specifically. The Nvidia types you mention would to me also seem too old but frankly I haven't payed much attention to Nvidia for many, many years now (am a Linux user) so perhaps simply trying is the best method: if you're assigned 192.0.2.1 as a work server, then you know they're not going to fly either.

Nice. How are you finding the Cyber Power Rackmounts and their PDUs? I've a bunch of Eaton/PowerWare units that work was throwing out because the batteries were flat and they needed some capacitors replaced.

I love their stuff - Can't beat it for the price.  That's a 1500VA true sine wave UPS and it's been flawless.  Below the UPS is one of their battery expansions (you can keep adding them as needed).  My batteries are going on quite a few years old now and still have decent capacity.  My last calibration showed 57 mins run time, and that's running everything in that rack.

Not 57 minutes when folding though :)

Nice - his ISP has nice peering. Tracing to him from Ontario I get to them via the Toronto Internet Exchange (TORIX) so not too shabby for an ISP in Vancouver.

From the UK it goes across the US..

Ive gone london -> new york -> chicago -> seattle  before timing out at 30 hops.

Today's experience was quite mixed. After i went to sleep an hour after event start i got 1 more WU and then it went stuck in WU request loop for both CPU and GPU. Then, some WU's only got base credit, others got full credit. Some are not even registered even though i finished and uploaded them without problems. Right now my Rig ist working on a GPU WU, will see if this one get sits deserved bonus credits - or not.

I hope it gets better the next days :).

I finally got my first GPU Work unit of the day, but it failed about 8% of the way in due to 'ERROR:exception: clWaitForEvents'

Other than general instability of  your GPU it would seem this could be only the result of an driver bug. I don't pay much attention to Nvidia and certainly not on Windows, but there were indeed recent issues with Nvidia OpenCL on Linux at least. I.e., you may need to try updating your drivers and/or google specifically for your card, OpenCL and/or F@h.

To be fair, a buddy of mine has about the same specs for CPU GPU and RAM altho he got 64GB cus overkill why not.
He also needs to wait for the WU's so im not sure if thats a thing.

I do ponder if i should have done 64gb but... ;)

The only reason my GPU is still a 1080 Ti is because I drew the line at $1400 for a 2080 Ti...

Thanks for your response.  This is the first instance I've seen of any work units having problems on my GPU.  It might just be 'one of those things'  I have restarted my rig now, to see if it helps for the next one I get, whenever that'll be.

I'll do some googling to see if I can find anything useful.  So far the only info I've found is that it could actually be a problem with a WU that wasn't tested properly and had a problem..

The badges are for LMG endorsed event, this is a community event.

That needs to change though, can't not be an LMG endorsed event when it's like the biggest thing they're doing in a long time in terms of efforts and collabs and brings a way bigger community together than ever before...

Actually deserves a dedicated "COVID FIGHTER" badge in addition to the event count methinks :P

Although part of me agrees.

As folding team leader I like that badges are rare and hard to come by as far as the new mythic badge and event badges go.

If I were asked to give my advice I'd still say no to an event badge for this. Not only because it makes badges less rare but also because as any mod will tell you the badges are hard work af to deal with.
